Re: Yet another PI thread...

Out of all the tubes you have tried did any stick out, as sounding better than the others? Was there much of an audible difference between the different types at all? Which tubes have you tried so far? NOS? New? both? Which sounds best to you so far? Sorry for all the questions! I have set the PI on...

Re: Has anyone used an octal socket relay in a 2nd/3rd gen?

Try this
NEC miniature low signal DPDT 12v sealed
Mouser part# 551-MR62-12USRY

hope that helps some.

The Octal relay base had screw terminals rather than the ability to solder permanately also .

Re: Has anyone used an octal socket relay in a 2nd/3rd gen?

Those octal socket relays are quite large for the application. As far as the ability to work. If the coil voltage is correct and the contacts are rated high enough, in this case OVERKILL Oh and make sure the coil is Dc voltage Ive watched 12vdc burn up/melt a 12vac rated relay coil. I never knew 12v...

Re: Ceriatone #183 build questions...

Most of the guys here dont take the easy route and source most everything themselves. I took the easy route I cannot say 1 bad thing about Ceriatone quality. My next project I think I will try to source my own parts. I love the OTS that I built though, especially since its my first born. Unfortunate...

Re: Fixing Reverb predicament on HRM'd Traynor YGL-3a

That's good atleast its not noticeable anymore.
I've been eyeballin this traynor that is at a local music store. Its sittin in the back collecting dust for years. Probably needs new caps and some TLC.
If I can a good deal on it it may be my next amp project.

Re: Sonny Landreth Dumble

Thank you for that.
I listened to the album from the reach on my commute to work this morning, man that slide playing just never gets old.
These D-style amps pretty much beg to be played with a slide, they sound so good!

Re: Question about strange problem...

I hear all kinds of poppin and fizzin but I really hope that is the camera mic and not the amp. If it was the amp that would have completely ruined that gig.
my 2 cents

LNFB switch at V1 explanation please

Hi everyone I recently built a C-tone OTS FM50 modern eagle mod. It is the latest OTS offered by C-tone. Out of the multiple OTS's they offer only the mod eagle FM and the standard HRM have a LNFB ( local negative feedback loop ) switch at V1. I have been playing on this amp for less than a month ap...

Re: Question about strange problem...

I have only ran mine above mainly because its easier to keep them away from the other wires. Another forumite here is right now in the process of redoing all his heater wires above rather than below because he was having issues as well, not necessarily the same issues although. Pics would be very he...

Re: Question about strange problem...

If its not the weed it must be the POT  If you built the amp how are the heater wires ran? Above or down on chassis? Inside the amp chassis other than the heaters you should have as much separation between wiring as possible. 1/4 inch is usually enough but any closer and you start getting bleed...
