Re: Need a knowledgeable tech in Kansas City

Texas I am in north Texas and Greg D is here in town right now. If you could send the amp here I can vouch how great it will sound when it leaves.. Greg has voiced 3 of my amps now a 69 plexi the ODSR and a Phoenix. loving all 3. Tell him what you want and he will voice it to that. Closest I can rec...

Re: Dumble SSS - history and info

@Jim I am told now that in fact #5 or Ejs SSS was not a skyline eq. I am confused as Eric told me in person to my face that he requested that in his SSS amp... So I am baffled yet again... Boldaslove knows more of the specifics here and he informed me that it does not appear to be skyline eq at all....

not hype

As I said I could clearly hear a difference soon as the right glass was installed.. Then we delved into the Nos parts and it improved even more so. This week we stumbled upon the other parts which should make even more of a difference..... Those will go into both Quinns here... Gregs and Mine.. Do I...

Re: NOS parts in 183

183/102 update ! Greg installed basically the same parts into my amp and it improved the sound 5000% in my mind. Today we seek other old parts locally at a place I took Greg too. Those parts will as well go into the amps.. I cant see how it can get any better but im all ears.. Waiting on more cable ...

Great information and post

Thanks for the detailed post I was asking Greg D about this the other day. I have learned more about these amps over the past 3 months then I can soak up.. Hearing them is quite something... The SSS the ODSR and the Phoenix are all 3 different sounding amps they all have that amazing hi fi eq though...

Re: NOS parts in 183

I heard this amp when it arrived here in Texas and throughout. This last change really sounds the best to me . **Greg heard and played mine said its not enough gain and lets change the tubes to NOS glass we did made a GIANT difference in tone in the amp as stated before..** Then he worked with some ...

Yep considering I showed this to Greg at about 2 this afternoon or so..
Id say he knocked that right out..

I stumbled across this last night doing searches for anything new popping up.
I barely saw this as it was at bottom of list of things for sale.

Note the 100 watt transformer...!

Re: Phoenix amp

Well he put 34s in it vs 6l6s and it sounds just amazing already... He wants more from it volume wise so its still in the tweak phase but holy cow it sounds just fantastic and Ive only heard the first channel . Its very Marshall~ish but way more and then some on the first channel alone. I can say th...

I bought a 150 watt amp took a chance on that circuit and its the one ive been after. I own the ODSR with the improved verb and built in D lator and the SSS amp does not have D lator at all and still sounds great but I want to be able to crank the SSS amp up and turn down the D lator. I must wait to...

I am in process of getting a serious rack wired up to showcase several amps I have here waiting on more cable now soon there will be clips of this amp up. More ...

Re: Santana's view on his Bludotone

Hmm efx loop or built in d lator ? This is the exact reason for such a device to be able to tame the output while getting the tone at lower volumes... Some say they are not needed with these style circuits but unless they are built in or external, regardless its needed to tame the amp.. Boldasloves ...
