Re: bassman 6g6b bass channel mod?
I bought the amp and refurbished it little over a year ago and have had nothing but great tone out of it since although I rarely use the bass channel. I can get by fine with the bass channel but I keep stumbling on these threads where this “wiring error” is brought up. According to the description i...

Re: bassman 6g6b bass channel mod?
Maybe my schematic reading isn’t as bad as I thought lol I went over them both and I couldn’t figure out where they differed so I thought I was missing it.

Re: bassman 6g6b bass channel mod?
Yeah but from the linked threads it seems there is supposed to be a discrepancy between the layout and schemo right. The amp sounds fantastic but he bass channel does have significantly less bass when compared to the Normal channel. If you snoop around a little on the web you’ll hear a 50/50% of peo...

Re: bassman 6g6b bass channel mod?
Despite having more than a few builds under me im ashamed to say that my schematic Kung fu isn’t very strong Martin. I was hoping for some help deciphering the differences between it and the layout. If it were a clone I’d dive right in and start figuring it out but since it’s orignial I’d like to ju...

Re: bassman 6g6b bass channel mod?
Sorry to resurrect this thread. So I have a 6G6B and my bass channel is also pretty trebly with little bass that this thread mentions but all the pics of the correct way to wire it have been lost in threads that are linked. Can anyone help me fill in the blanks. As it stands mine is wired like the 6...

Re: 1987X with mods any ideas
Yeah ol’Micheal RT is a character. He gets pretty funny when you call him out on his mods. It’s really just another Mod 5 derivative that he’s been hyping up on the Marshall Forum and the gear page to get people to send him their amps. The spec is fun to play with but it’s nothing that hasn’t been f...

Re: Master volume mod
Hey guys, I too have opted to put the 220ks on a switch in any daily driver AB165. I switch them in and out all the time while the amp is on and haven't had fireworks yet. As a matter of fact its completely silent with no pops or anything, just a very slight volume reduction (Im using the Carling P-...

Re: 6G6 b+ voltage & 5881 tubes
I'm glad this thread came up. I'm trying to decide if there's a problem with my 6g6b I just got. When I variac down to 110 which is what my amp wants to see my plate voltage is 448v. I thought this was pretty high? Edit this is with all tubes in and biased at 36 mA If I plug straight into the wall m...

Re: Bassman head circuit identification
Hey fellas! Man it's raining 6g6s lately, I just got mine for 600 bucks off a guy on eBay. The head shell has been recovered and re grilled what looks to be ages ago but in side it was completely original! Here she is after I brought her up to snuff. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Johnspics/...

The tones you get out of your stuff at low volume has allways been impressive to me man. Makes me really want to build a JTM45ish thingy next.

Re: A couple of builds I did before surgery...
I heard the 2204 conversion on Saturday while Carl was trouble shooting and disturbingly quickly finding my bone headed mistake on my newest build. Its a true beast of an 800. Carl makes any amp sound good when he's playing it but that one was on another level. Game over good. Thanks again for the h...
