Re: I got picked up by iTunes today!!!
I would be honored if you would check it out. Actually, hackensack was based on a song by Fountains of Wayne, hence the nameStructo wrote:Sounds good!
I'll have to check Itunes for it.
How is it a Dutchman writes about Hackensack, New Jersey?

I got picked up by iTunes today!!!
Something amazing happened today. My songs got picked up by iTunes today!!! It's kind of unreal. I am honored that they picked me up and that I got through their stringent quality control. Here is a link: http://itunes.apple.com/nl/artist/jazzinc/id491220939 The first song is played on my own guitar...

Re: Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
Thanks man. I was already taking Structos advice to let the amp settle in a little more before I make changes and then the first thing I'll do is check wiring I have a 183 type circuit. The OD was a bit fizzy and the OD+PAB lacked ALOT of bass and was fizzy. Clicking PAB on, with OD already on, resu...

Re: Two rock custom reverb sig sounds and guts
No, I agree, it's not only a power issue. The rest is voicing of the amp, especially the OD which was just not to my liking. Cool, hope she's a good one. I notice this amp doesn't have the cap foil direction indicated like the signatures have. Interesting Thanks! I'm not entirely sure it's a transfo...

Re: Two rock custom reverb sig sounds and guts
A few more. Not much to gain with the silicone sandwich in there....customer was pretty livid that it could not be tweaked. TR told him "nothing wrong with it", 'cept it sounds small and thin.... I had the blue chassis Custom Reverb Sig v2 50W and it was the biggest amp-disappointment in my life. I...

Thanks guys. Wouldn't changing the dropping string be in order to fix the voltage at v2 when going high plate on a low plate dropping string in v2?

Re: Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
Yeah, I understand. I was planning to use the rule of 66 and use the bypass cap to tailor low end frequency response (along with the Ayan mod). But I was wondering since most Dumble amps (including Two Rocks, etc) use symmetrical plate loads as far as I've seen them, there must be a reason. Hence my...

Re: Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
I'd mod it to a high plate using the #102 & #183 layouts before trying the HRM route. So I've been reading a lot today and found a thread that said HAD liked symmetry in the valves, which was why his plate resistors were generally the same over V1 and V2. Now, as you know I do not want to mess with...

Re: Starting a #124 Build - Progress
So my cabs arrived today. I went with the classic black/black look. Photos are below. Amp sounds excellent with the proper speakers, my initial power up tests were with some alnico 10s that weren't really suited to this amp. with the 2 g12-65s in this thing, it sounds great. Needs to smooth out the...

Re: Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
I'm going to go high-plate on the OD and change the OD trimmer to 100k, see how that sounds and then slowly updating the specs to 183 OD, listening to all the changes. Thanks so much!! Scott (Dogears) has stated that the 220K into the 100K trimmer is the grail tone on OD. But it is subjective. Mario...

Re: Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
What is the consensus on trimmer and pot values? The 124 has a 360k trimmer whereas 102 and 183 have 100k trimmers. Then there are 100k drive pots as well as 250k drive pots and the same goes for ratio/volume pots, either 100k or 250k. The trimmer should be 100k but what kind of drive and ratio valu...

Re: Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
Thanks for all the replies so far. I have tried matching the lead dress as closely as possible. As for playing time, I do have quite a few hours on it since I finished the basic amp back in May. It's just that I don't like the basic character of the amp's overdrive so it seems. I have tried smoothin...

Modding a non-HRM 124 to HRM... any info appreciated
I have been reading posts for a few hours, but it seems it's really a mixed bag as far as opinions go. Also, I found the bluesmaster layout, but I was wondering if anyone ever did a schematic for modding a low-plate ODS with skyliner update to HRM. I am really in love with my clean sound on my Too R...

Re: Dumbleator for #124. Made a layout and schematic. Please C&a
BTW, I also moved the 1k8/47uF cathode resistor and bypass cap to terminal strips around the tube as per Structo's suggestion, so I used the space that got freed up on the board for the glaswerks mod for the preamp boost
