Re: X-Blender or Minimix II, which one???

Funny, I have been considering the Xotic X Blender as well. In comparing the X Blender to the Suhr Mini Mix II, it seems more versatile. Not only can you choose serial to parallel looping, you can actively adjust the Wet/ Dry mix. It also has a phase switch, volume, bass and treble controls for mor...

Re: X-Blender or Minimix II, which one???

Hi ! I don't want to throw a wrench in things, but: If you want to preserve the tone you seem to have carefully crafted, the best way is W/D or W/D/W.You could run W/D with one of those tech21 Power engine 60.It is a powered 1x12,fairly new and supported. You built your amp so you could easily add a l...

Re: X-Blender or Minimix II, which one???

Just a bit of an update... Ok, so the priorities got shuffled a bit. I now have a Ground Control Pro and one less Marshall combo amp. I am currently using the GCP with the G Major II and that is it. I still have a compressor, two OD pedals, an EQ (for a boost pedal), and a volume pedal in front of t...

Re: A poll about Speakers...

I've been watching the horse race to see who is going to win. The EVM-12L seems to be ahead by a nose. I'm waiting on a used EVM-12L 8-Ohm to arrive from 80 miles away. I picked it up for about $120 from flea bay. I don't have the cab done for it yet, so I wasn't in a big hurry to get it. It looks l...

Re: X-Blender or Minimix II, which one???

Cool. Thanks!!! It's great to know that there are TWO options that seem to be able to eliminate/mitigate the tone sucking of digital effects in the Dumble rig.

And since I'm going shopping for one as soon as THIS AFTERNOON, this is pretty timely!!!

Thanks again!

A poll about Speakers...

A number of speakers seem to be the "go to" speakers for D-style clones. There are a few others mentioned here and there, but I wondered which one was the MOST common. HAD may have had his preferred speaker for his amps, but I'm curious what a pool of "particular" tone heads think... So I created a ...

Re: X-Blender or Minimix II, which one???

Well, there's plenty of new information in these replies.... The GC Pro could control my G Major II, and the G Major II could then control my amp (with some cable modification) channels (etc.) via the foot controller. When I have some stomp boxes added in the mix, then I have to go with something li...

X-Blender or Minimix II, which one???

I've got a RF era Dumble clone/rig that I'm finishing up and going to be taking public in the next month or so... I've voiced it a little different (more lower-mid focused on the slope) than a true RF amp, but that happens to be where my tone lives. I'm using a Dumbleator with RG-400 cables to cut t...

Re: EVM-12L Choices ???

Thanks for the heads up on the Thiele... My plan was to make the cabinet to match the width of the head and use an internal baffle to keep the volume of the acoustical chamber the same. I want to use the extra space as storage for the speaker cable and the microphone cable. That was how I plan to ke...

EVM-12L Choices ???

I'm checking out Fleebay and a few other sources for EVM-12Ls to go with my 50W ODS (TL806 cab). I had it in mind that the Classic 16 Ohm was the way to go, but I wanted to get some feedback on the 12L series and verify I was on a good road. I figure they're all good, but I hate to settle!!! There's...

Re: Dumble Clone Break-In Issues

Why do you figure you didn't have a clean channel at start up? When I had a similar problem I found my preamp volume pot was defective. Strange that the power tubes are 10v apart. Especially for matched Winged C 6L6, those are usually closer together. So you are biased now around 70%? You may like ...

Dumble Clone Break-In Issues

I actually think "wear-in" sounds more appropriate. I just don't like the term "break". I have a Ford-esque Dumble clone that is now up and running on the bench and I've put about 6 hours in it. What a change, or series of changes, those 6 hours make. I'm using the Dumbleator as is common/recommende...
