Re: 18watt trem -> TMB
In parallel mode V1a and V1b are paralleled. A lot of people would refer to it as the High and Low input. Attached is a schematic. On the normal channel the High the input goes to pin 2 and pin 7 of V1 (grids). The plates (pin 1 and pin 6) are tied together. On the normal channel Low, just V1a is us...

Re: 18watt trem -> TMB
18watt.com has layouts and schematics for several different versions of the 18W. Beware, the input jack wiring is wrong on some of the 18W Tremolo layouts. If you are going to convert the amp it would be easier to start with a new turret board (Watts Tube Audio). I have built both versions and I do ...

Re: Monkeymatic 18TMB
I'm liking the looks of this, but with only two power tubes. Has a unique topology. [img:2573:1691]http://mhuss.com/18watt/schematics/36wTMB5.gif[/img] I built this amp with the exact component values on the schematic. Note that the PI is a slight variation from the standard 18W. The normal channel...

Re: I don't want a pickle
New to riding, something my wife and I have always wanted to do, but for some reason the timing wasn't right. She'll be delivered on Tuesday, 2006 Heritage Deluxe. Looking forward to getting on the road. We both completed a motorcycle riding/safety course this weekend :) Mark I have just three word...

Re: I don't want a pickle
I've been cruising around on my new Triumph for two days now. I'm trying to get through the 500 mile break in by the end of the labor day weekend. Triumph Bonneville's come in two flavors: the Bonneville and the fancier Bonneville T100. My new bike is a Bonneville and I traded in a 2007 T100. The bi...

Re: I don't want a pickle
Have you seen the new R Nine T? It is what I really wanted but was more than twice the price. $6999 vs. $14,900. My car only cost $14,900 - Honda Fit.Zippy wrote:BMW R1150RS for me. I bought my first BMW (R90S) in 1978.

I don't want a pickle
I just want to ride on my motor-sickle.
Just got back from picking up my new motorcycle. Just thought I see if there any other motorcycle enthusiasts here on TAG.
Ride on,
George

Re: Any bicycle riders here?
I have a Cannondale Adventure 3. It not a bad road bike and good for smooth trails. Here in Pennsylvania we have a lot of "Rail Trails" - abandoned railroad tracks that have been converted to bicycle trails. A hybrid is ideal for rail trails. Make sure you get a bike that is the proper size for you....

Re: What solder?
A good technical paper on why tin and gold don't play together well. There used to be a good paper on the Cardas website about eutectic (63/37) solder but it's gone. 60/40 solder is not eutectic. I personally feel there is no reason to use gold plated anything in a classic amp build. There's a good ...

#183 questions?
I've built three EL84 amps that work good so I thought I might try something a bit more complicated and versatile next. I don't know much about Dumble amps but it looks like ol' #183 might be a good choice because of the EL34 tubes. I was going to build a Fender Twin but I like the idea of channel s...

Re: Rocket voltages OK?
Thanks for the reply. Using a more accurate method of checking bias, I get a dissipation of 11.5W. I have trouble checking voltages as my line voltage fluctuates a good bit. I am at the junction of three power plants. The York Haven Met-Ed hydro plant, PP&L's Brunner Island plant, and, unfortunately...

Rocket voltages OK?
Since I discovered the input jack problem and my Rocket seems to be working more or less normally I decided to check the voltages. Everything seems to be close except for V3. I have 176.8V on pin 1 and 178.4V on pin 6. The voltage chart list 180V and 159V. If both plates are fed by B+3 and both plat...
