Re: We just fucking lost Bob S

Oh man...

Bob was an extremely generous person, both with his time, and materials.

I will pay it forward.

Re: Iris combo cab

Your idea would look nice as an acoustic guitar top, pupil as soundhole.

Website

Haven't been on in a while, been busy with my addiction to rent and food.

Most of you know I'm not a musician, but I do have a parallel path.

My website is finally up(doubt it will ever be 'done')

Re: Ransomware

A must have PC accessory is a USB stick with windows 10 bootable on it.

You can download the creation program free from Microsoft.

Re: Big new toy

I've moved mine a few times.

Around the shop, the easiest way is to get some pieces of 2" IPS under it and roll/pivot it.

To get it to another location... You'll need at least a liftgate truck, or flatbed with chain hoist for the bigger pieces.

You'll also need 3 phase to run it.

Re: Best wood for speaker cabinets?

I don't use regular white pine, its very soft and gummy.

I buy a denser species labeled 'Radiata Pine'

Re: Router sled

Maybe screw down a couple pieces of Kindorf B-905 strip as rails?

Its pretty straight, and when you place it you'll see any gaps below that need shims to keep it from bending when screwed tight.

A complicated joint or unnecessary complexity is the woodworkers guitar solo.

Re: Router sled as a planer - what bit?

If you go to a bigger diameter cutter you won't be able to take deep cuts. You can only remove so much wood at once, be it depth or width. If you are unable to clamp the slab you want a reverse spiral bit that will push the work down rather than try to lift it and gouge. This will not end cut though...

Re: detuned cabinets

Doesn't the speaker need to load against air resistance to keep from bottoming at higher power/low frequency?
