This is what I use, not cheap but I have made thousands of boards with it.

Also Egnater used to use some sort of prototype board that had larger square pads (maybe .125") and no holes. Seemed very interesting. I've never found it though.

Re: HELP! No sound on Clean Channel on Dual EQ SLO clone
If that is the same method as the original it is a brute force way of toggling the vactrols and it can be a balancing act but it does work. Extra energy and heat is thrown away. You need to trace the transformer specs and your wiring. Personally though I would use a different method of toggling the ...

You lift that one shielded wire off the pot
Undo the Board screws and flip it over.
Being in the repair buis for so many years I always think of those situations.

Re: Suhr Hedgehog
I think it is a pretty innovative amplifier John. It seems to address a lot of requests from guitarists. Remember guys, those who don't innovate, tend to stagnate. BTW John, What did you want to delete? Unfortunately, members cannot delete posts here but you can edit it. Thanks Yes it is very intui...

Re: Suhr Hedgehog
Is this another Dumblish clone? http://www.suhr.com/Suhr-Hedgehog-50.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltIO2D7THt4 Nice sounding amp, IMO. with respect, 10thtx It is american inspired but not really a clone any more than a Dumble is a clone of a Fender. The 2014 version is kicking ass though and...

Re: Corrective filter in 4xEL84 amp
I totally understand all that, but again, the Carmen Ghia and Badger both use the 10k/.002uf values (which is the same as 5k/.0047uf). I think it's better the change the cap value rather than the resistor for power dissipation reasons. Actually I use a 1n/10K You really need to dial it in for taste...

Re: Whats your opinion on CTS pots?
So I just got my kit in the mail for my JTM 45 build. This is my first build. All the pots are Alpha except for all of the 1 Meg pots they gave me are CTS. I'm thinking of ordering some Alpha 1Meg pots instead of using the CTS. I think I would honestly prefer them to be all Alpha pots in this build...

Re: Unleash peeps
I'm surprised no one has built one yet;) or maybe someone has? It's not super complicated and we do have other threads on this: http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21142&sid=1e9a4073b269b5c2a61d27c7be4f5efe It is a good reactive load and hen an SS class D 100 watt power amp. Due to it being Class D (floating ground) there is a potential of getting shocked if they didn't do that. It was a necessity.vibratoking wrote:Just looked at the manual...yay speakon connectors. Great idea...I would have never thought of that.

Re: DPDT Push/Pull Pots source
Sadly, these will be hard to find. Fender used to use them and CTS still lists them, but you'd need to order a ridiculous quantity. Maybe try searching for Fender Amp push-pull pots. The SPST ones are available, but the DPDT ones I haven't seen for awhile We use the CTS single pole on the Jim Kelle...

Re: Red Goop In Dr. Z & Metro Amps
The only ones who want to destroy it are China for their approvals Don't the insulation tests required by the Low Voltage Directive involve applying kV pulses to all terminals (ie jack and line sockets)? I guess they may well survive but not be seen to be fit for sale without re-work? Maybe they co...
