Building a Express style amp. For the sake of space, can I use one of those 1k 25w Aluminum wirewound chassis mount resistors instead of the ceramic? Not really going for an exact clone. Thanks

Do you guys think that the 100k/4.7k feedback network on the schematic/pic
is based on the 4 ohm speaker tap like a stock Bandmaster OT?

I’m gonna try to post a list of the Ultra Phonix mods here in one post. Looks like a lot of it is leaning towards Marshall style values.

Can anyone direct me to a schematic or thread for the Ultra Phonix mods. I wanna mod a Fender Bandmaster. Thanks

It’s basically an Express power section. SS recto. However, I’m not shooting for an exact clone.
I’ve noticed Marshall’s standby is before the SS recto. So maybe would this be the preferred method?

Better to have the first cap before the Standby switch?
Also, Bleeder resistors or no? Thanks

Thinking about using 2 x 30uf caps for a total of 60uf as the first filter on my Rocket pre/express power build. Anyone lower the cap values of these amps with good results? Thinking about going 60uf/30uf/16uf/16uf/16uf on this build. Thoughts?

Im not looking for any more gain. Maybe i used the wrong terms. Im looking for more of a gritty tone. More raw.

Got a 220k on V1 and V2 is bypassed by a 5uf. Not looking for more gain, the amps got plenty enough gain.. but a less smooth tone.
