I have a friend who goes there quite often. I'm only a half hour away but never have time to go.

Re: 6AQ5 Mini JCM800
thanks for looking,
I'll look at the caps when I get home but I think they are all good.
PT does not have a center tap for the heaters.
also I did swap out the power tube 100r cathode resistors for 1r's

Re: 6AQ5 Mini JCM800
Got it fired up last night.
It's got a weird, loud buzz when I turn up the master. I must have screwed something up. Hopefully be able to mess with it some more tomorrow.
edit, I did swap out the power tube 100r cathode resistors for 1r's

That one wasn't so much 'serviced' as it was fully harvested for mustards. Ask me how I know. After 25 years I still never never sit with my back to the door just in case the Mounties walk in. No biggie but no diff than a vintage Fender or Marshall that's had a capectomy (looks like resitorectomy t...

6AQ5 Mini JCM800
Still on the Marshall and small amp kick. So this time going to do a JCM800 as soon as I receive my PT and chassis.
I'm going to start with the stock preamp but might try some of the Soldano hot rod 50 values.
If you have any thoughts please share
thanks

Re: 6AQ5 low power super lead started
wow, like I said before it's a totally different animal than I'm used to. I have been using cathode biased amps for the last 8-10 years. Mostly AC30ish stuff till recently going with tweed deluxe type amps. This thing is a beast and is pretty loud at the sweet spot. I run my amps on the edge of brea...
