Re: Express / SLO 50W hybrid

Looks good and Sounds great!! Just got couple of KT66 in exchange for an unused desktop computer. Was thinking to build them some sort of either Manzamp variation or Express incarnation (have a JTM transformer set with Modulus amps Drake OT clone) and that seems to come right on time. If you manage ...

Re: Matchless style PCB board: AA Electronics

That looks good :)

I would, however, consider taking the 10W cathode biasing resistors off the board.
These get crazy hot and will cause charring to the board at some point (even if lifted) and cause stress to the neighboring caps (and screen grid resistors) altogether.

Re: Ultraphonix adventure

Will be following up this rather addictive thread/trend :)

I would so love to have the opportunity to get some old tube amps where I am, instead of the all sorts of weird 80s solid state rubbish that is on the local market all the time.

Re: (RLC) cathodes in preamp

FWIW, I had on hand an EF86 preamp design, I was tweaking and took a few snapshots in Micro-Cap with two inductor values. It should be noted that curves will vary with the voltage and there are a bunch of "ifs" associated, however, it might be useful. If I get the time in a few days, I'll dig out so...

Re: Ultraphonix adventure

One can definitely hear the potential :) Thanks! I’ll breadboard the pre and maybe also make a SE version of it for the sake of the experiment :) I have a vintage 74 100W Traynor that might get the treat as well (once I change all the great looking, but quite old Mallory electrolytics). So many idea...

Re: JEFF BECK DEAD AT 78

Bacterial meningitis. This took me by surprise as well. I am huge, huge fan. Just a few days ago, I was scrolling through some Facebook content and got to a post by Guthrie Trapp with picture of him, Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons from a few months ago. Jeff looked great, healthy and in good mood... Niki

Re: Dumble chassis

I'd be very interested in the 'more of a custom reverb signature tbh' set chassis and pcbs (I am really getting lazy after so much drilling during the years...).
And for once having the advantage of being in the EU :)

I usually only get bored with amps that don’t do what I want. :D
.....
My reading is that you need more amps :)

Re: Hey Robben, where's your Dumble?

As I implied (seems that's the trend of the day) from some interviews and YouTube videos, he seemed a tad bored with the 102 and hence might be just looking for some variety ... :)

The guy is a Bulgarian from Bulgaria and runs a commercial/boutique building service/shop. It is good quality stuff. Here's one of the D Drive pedal demos (plugged in a Two Rock amp FX return): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox4lUdAE6ck These days it is relatively easy to build a tube preamp in a p...

Re: Twisted Snowflake

I wish that was easy, but with shipping and customs, the cost will be prohibitive (plus that lately customs are taking it even easier than before). I have a Tele body stuck for 6-7 weeks with them - with no explanation whatsoever - it is ridiculous. The most irritating part is that I ordered it via ...

Cool :) Which brand tabletop CNC did you get? I’m kinda looking through the options these days…
Does the ‘t’ at the end of Borscht is intentional, since the literal transliteration should be without it.
