Re: Return
Thanks guys!
Still trying to find time. Seems to be un-obtainium right now. Will get on with it, when IS the question!

Greetings All! It seems I have been away from THE forum for three years! Partly due to the "problems". I think I know who caused them, but whatever, I have had my own problems, mostly economic, motivation and focus. I have not really had much bench time since. I STILL have a partially gutted 1484 on...

Re: Well look what I found on craigslist.
That's right it's a Gabby! I was surprised that the tubes are all good. Haven't tested anything inside amp yet. Oh and it came with the 1x12 combo cab, with an orange Realistic speaker. Cab is sad but complete except some tolex. I think I got a pretty good deal, because I would have paid $65 for jus...

It was made in the Philippines. The guy I got it from said he bought it from a Viet Nam vet. It had a 5U4GB with broken index pin, two miss-matched 6L6WGBs, and 5 12AX7s(3 japanese, and 2 GE 12AX7WAs). Haven't even tested tubes yet.

Ya, I know it's not a Fender. Not sure about much with this one. No I haven't plugged it in. I plan on a lot of careful non-live testing before anything else. It looks as if it lost it's OT at one point, and had a larger one hacked in. I'm not even sure why I bought it, except I now have a "Fender" ...

Re: Jack Bruce
RIP Jack Bruce.
On a lighter note, I was thinking of others who passed because of liver issues......and I think; Jim Capaldi, Rory Gallagher, and Jack Bruce have just formed a new band!
ROCK ON!

Re: Any Richard Brautigan fans here?
I am about to re-read all his stuff. I just finished revisiting Jerzy Kosinski. Man that guy knows how to treat other people(sic). I think I re-read this stuff to regain some perspective on how people treat each other. He shows the worst, only you can show the best. I had to buy "Cockpit" at a local...

Re: Will this work?
A while from trying.......at design stage. To be a little more clear, some parts are from the bone pile, some are new. New: PT, resistors, pots, some caps(all Ecaps), switches, jacks chassis and rectos. Used: OT, tubes, sockets, and one of four 5ohm speakers. At this point trying to make a viable sc...

Re: Will this work?
So, what kind of value for mix resistors? Two of the same value one from each pre-amp?
Thanks again!

Re: Will this work?
So I should make another PS node and move the pre-amps to that node? A power tube grid stopper? Like a 68K to ground at the socket? Let's see if my math is right for current: The power tranny is rated for 250VCT at .13A with FWB should be around 310V at .08A. Power tube plate should draw a max of .0...

Re: Will this work?
It's got a tone stack by-pass switch(like the eagle super), so by-passed the pre-amp should deliver about the same voltage as the other pre-amp. Kinda voxy/champ Have another tranny set.....planning same pre-amps, 6V6 power out. Looking like point-to-point. Thanks for responding! I have a couple mor...
