Re: '63 Showman with two 15" JBL Silver cone 16 ohm speakers
You must be mistaken about the year of your 2-15" cabinet. I have both the 62 / 63 Fender catalog and the 64/65 catalog and the duel Showman was not available until 64 and at that point the duel Showman could be had with 2-12" or 2-15" drivers. I see no logic in what your proposing to do! Gimme a b...

'63 Showman with two 15" JBL Silver cone 16 ohm speakers
I have a '63 Showman with two 15" JBL Silver cone 16 ohm speakers taking up space in the garage. I posted about it several years ago. I'm wondering if I should build 2 amps (one for each speaker) and sell them to a pedal steel player, sell the amp alone, or sell the whole kit as one? I've read that ...

Re: Dumbleator Layout
Just curious if there's a BOM for this Dumbleator?
I looked around and don't seem to find one.
TIA

Re: Monoprice 15-Watt, 1x12 Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier with Celestion Speaker & Spring Reverb
If you want to convert to a hand-wired amp with those transformers, take a look at any 3 x 12AX7 and 2 x EL84 based amp. For example, you could do a Marshall 18W circuit, or a fender Blues Junior with 1-tube reverb Or, seeing as how EL84s require 760mA heater juice and 6V6s only require 450mA, conv...

Monoprice 15-Watt, 1x12 Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier with Celestion Speaker & Spring Reverb
15-Watt, 1x12 Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier with Celestion Speaker & Spring Reverb Ok, it's cheap, but it's a handy little tube amp for $230! It's not a Fender et al, but it makes noise and it's handy little practice amp with without dragging out the big amp. What can I do to make it have more tone? ...

Re: Showman Amp
Yes, this has the brackets on the long side too. I stood it on end because of no room in the garage.martin manning wrote:gldtp99 posted a pic of his blonde 2x15 above. You can see the "piggyback" brackets are on the long side.
Does it matter which way the speakers sit? Is it better horizontal vs vertical?

Re: Y
Fender never made a Blond 2-15" horizontal speaker cabinet, those must be 12" JBL drivers if they are original ! The first 2-15" cab came about in the black Tolex era, and the cab stood verticle. This is definitely a blonde. It sits horizontal with the amp on top. I seem to remember some kind of 'p...

Re: Showman Amp
Mea culpa on the 6L6's. I'm no expert on amps. You are correct that it's 7355's! I used the online specs for the Showman and not looking at the tubes! I didn't know there were 'experiments' on the model. Here is a pic of the tube. The speakers are indeed 15's. JBL D130's. 16 ohms in parallel. I open...

Re: Showman Amp
Alas... it appears to be torn out.
Now why would someone tear it out so neatly??
Or do they tend to fall out after years?

Hmmm, this is what I was using to date it, but it seems it's a crapshoot.... http://www.ggjaguar.com/fendamp5.htm If you scroll down to Showman Showman 6G14, 6G14-A (blonde) 00001 to 00350 – 1960 00200 to 00800 – 1961 00800 to 01500 – 1962 01500 to 01800 – 1963 from the link: "Working at FMI – I was...
