Re: HOW MUCH DO I NEED?!?!?!?!?!
Hi, Hope you find a way to get back in the "Zone" 8) A good teacher can change the way you think, if you can find the right person. A PRS could buy quite a few lessons. I try to keep things to the minimum.... A strat, a tele, a LP and a jazzbox are just basic test equipment if you build or fix amps....

Re: Question about "Grid Stoppers"
Hi,
I had a Mesa Nomad that would pick up a South Carolina "holy roller" radio station on the crunch channel if it was in one place in my house.
My house is on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean
take care..

Hi,
thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have edited my posts in this thread because they contained no useful information.
Old test equipment and confirmation bias is a troublesome combination.
The purpose of LT is presumably for stability when V3a is switched out.
Take care

Engl 520 preamp
Hi, I have been playing with this circuit for the last few evenings. There is an interesting component I had not seen used in this way. A small inductor between signal and ground. It's a little black cube about 8mm on each side. Marked LT 3011/2. I don't have an LCR meter so I will have to rig somet...

Re: epiphone sheraton ii or gibson es-335
Hi,
I have two Gibson Les Pauls and would love to find a Yamaha SG 1000 for the right money.
Never managed to sell a guitar. Not sure I even like that idea.
take care

Hi,
normally I like to use 2 watt resistors but in this position I prefer 1/2 watt so they are "fusistors" if things go wrong
take care..

Re: epiphone sheraton ii or gibson es-335
Hi, A question that has no real answer, but I see it like this.... A good 335 is 2000 or so euro second hand. If you find one it should need very little more than new strings every now and again. If a 335 can do what you need they are good value. Unquestionably a professional quality instrument. My ...

Re: Wiring in some filter caps
Hi, this might be obvious to you. If it is, then forgive me for pointing it out. Those filter caps are "stacked" in series between the B+ and ground. The schematic shows a B+ of 394 volts. Too close to the limit for 400 volt caps. Stacking them gives you an 800 volt limit. The 220k resistors are the...
