Re: Paul Rivera Fender Concert-II compared to Dumble? YES? NO?

I've owned and played through a Fender Concert II amp head, Fender Reverb II amp head and Fender II combo amp, the Lee Jackson GP1000 stacked with the Lee Jackson SP1000 and a few other 1980s/1990s Fender amps. No Marshalls. To me, they're all good (no bad amps there) and they simply just tweak diff...

Re: Modest Mike's Mods, JHS Pedals Mods. Which do you like most?

Toppscore, you've been doing this shit since you joined. Ridiculous questions almost completely unrelated to amps are the usual fair. I really don't know why you can't take the hint without being smacked in the head with it. And even then, you still don't seem to get it. I'm with Miles on this one....

Re: Modest Mike's Mods, JHS Pedals Mods. Which do you like most?

LeftyStrat and ToneMerc: You are right. Sorry, my bad. Will keep to amp discussions. Paultergeist and Xtian: I enjoy "vintage" BOSS EHX DOD and BK Butler pedals. But, am taking your advice to sell the above three and get better pedals. Fixing-up these pedals does not add-up. Much appreciated. RealTu...

Modest Mike's Mods, JHS Pedals Mods. Which do you like most?

Hi. I own a BOSS CS3, BOSS GE7 and a VooDoo Lab MicroVibe. All are working good pedals with minor known issues such as noise, could use improvement(s) in tone or output, and that some known mods make these pedals a step better in many ways. Modest Mike's Mods and JHS Pedals both do mods for all thre...

Re: Micro Amp Head thoughts . . . .

Ampeg Micro-VR, My bass player uses one and I'm impressed by that thing every time. records well with the DI out too. ER ~ Thanks for the suggestion. The Ampeg Micro Micro VR is a bit too much in height and weight. Has the perfect headphone circuitry features and 1/4" speaker outs. The following fo...

Re: Micro Amp Head thoughts . . . .

A rep brought in the Traynor pedal amp and I wasn't really digging it. Didn't seem to have any balls and wasn't very loud. Quite surprising for a Traynor product. I have one of these in stock and it's pretty loud at 1.5lbs. I think it's class D power. http://traynoramps.com/bass/small_block/product...

Just what exactly are you looking for all the fucking time? It's always some impossible fucking thing that can't be made with the physical properties in this dimension. Seriously. Pot or perscriptions? These four: * Ampeg PortaFlex PB-350 Micro Amp Head 350w w/headphone * Carvin BX250 250w Bass Mic...

http://traynoramps.com/guitar/horses/product/dh25h/ 25W can make your ears bleed with an efficient cab. Thanks, RHardMan. A lot of pluses as I read about this little amp. It has been out a couple of years. Have you tried it? Headphones work without a speaker load, which is great. A different type o...

Re: Micro Amp Head thoughts . . . .

Yes a tone-shaping preamp/pedal would be an excellent addition. I've used the Tech21 Acoustic DI with excellent results. Besides V,T,B controls it has a semi parametric mid which makes it a powerful tone shaper. Plus a built-in FX loop. What more could anybody want? Oh yeah, a balanced DI out as we...

Re: Micro Amp Head thoughts . . . .

Crate Powerblock - discontinued long ago, price has gone up on the used market, sounds like crap unless you set it clean and use a great amp modeling style pedal. Convenient. Not super powerful clean, but good enough. Good. Being out of production and not the quality of the Bass amps, I will go wit...
