Bias current too high

Gents, OK only my second amp with a fixed bias supply so bear with me. It's a Marshall type supply HT into 220K - Diode - 15K to 10K pot with a 47K to ground. El34's 25W/385 plate x.70% = 45ma. Lowest I can go is 85 ma which is over 100%. So changing out the 15K is the way to go?? Increasing that re...

More work

So as I continue to work towards my title of "Worlds Slowest Vox Amp Builder" I did actually get something done on my VOX AC50. Like the power supply / bias supply board. And the input / tone / PI board. Looks over populated as it has two AC30 (TW Rocket) tone circuits. One for the Bright channel an...

Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w

Hey Mark,

Sir, I see what switch 2 does bringing in a bypass cap.
But what does switch 1 do? It looks like you're choosing another resistor but it's the same as the one already in the circuit....

Thanks

At it again

So with warmer weather hitting I was able to get back to the basement this week and continue on with the AC50 build.

The circuit boards fit and the front panel and pots etc are also fitted.
Been so long I gotta go over the design again and see if I got it right...

Martin

Thanks. Also good reminder to look for a dummy load. A 1k sine

O'Scope help

Guys Our small r&d lab is closing so I have a chance to pick up a scope cheap. What specs should I be looking for in a scope for tube amp work? Most of the ones have been used for high freq work, but I wouldn't need that right? Also there are some freq generators available and I'd need one of those ...

Re: ok......so.......

Woo Hoo!
I got an Empress Nebula vib/chorus/flanger pedal. Sounds great and has a bunch of memory locations that store your settings for easy live usage.

Also a bunch of Humble Pie early, Frampton era, cd's. Includes all four shows of the Rocking the Fillmore album...
