Re: what a 4th grader was taught
This pisses me off more than anything.Glad I don't get any CCW permits. Supposedly our state lawmakers are working up several laws to stop more of this from happening. Well can you blame the cops for wanting to know who's likely to be carrying a weapon? No I can't blame the police. The feds are the ...

Re: I am radioactive right now.
Well, my radioactive body didn't set off any alarms at the airport. Apparently my superpower is to be able to hide my radioactivity from sensors. But it also means in order to vanquish villains I have to hang around with them for thirty years until they develop cancer. Aw g'wan. It was your lead li...

Re: weller de-soldering tools - don't last very long
What goes in hard and dry and comes out soft and wet?? Chewing gum. I went to first grade ya know... And the first solder sucker I encountered was the Soldapullit. Good unit but gave up on'em after getting smacked in the eye a couple times. I use the cheap blue aluminum-tube ones from Mouser now. R...

Re: How to test an amp for 230v/240v operation?
The power line here isn't balanced; there's neutral (grounded at substation), live 240V, and ground. Comes from a 3 phase 415V local distribution. Voltage spec is 230 V+10%−6% (253–216.2 V). Pete OK then please pardon my misteak. What I learned, I got from Showpower. Their AC to performance s...

Re: How to test an amp for 230v/240v operation?
I do have 220 in my shop but am a little hesitant to equate that with what you would find in Europe. And maybe it does not matter but our 220 is across 2 hot legs either of which can give you 110 to the neutral and then you have a separate ground. I don't think it is the same in the UK where you ha...

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
There is. He stole all that from my Ben Frankin/Niccolo Machiavelli fan page on FB. I'd like to see that Miles but I'm on dialup so it takes about an hour to sign on to Farcebook, and I can't navigate anything once I get there because I run script killer software. Am I missing anything? Do you have...

Re: How to test an amp for 230v/240v operation?
Might you have a dryer or air conditioner outlet that delivers 240V? If so you could use that. If not, it's probable that you can find 240V inside your breaker box as that's how electricity is delivered to most homes. You would have to - very carefully - wire a temporary 240V "hot to hot" line out t...

Re: PSA - I'm incommunicado
now that I am aware that they put whiskey in fudge oh shit I'd be in in one hell of a mess.Hope I don't find any around my neck of the woods By the time the fudge is cooked & set there would be no alcohol left - bummer! And a super smoky scotch like Laphroaig, you might as well stir "essence of bur...

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
Right on Lefty, too bad there's no way to stick a "like" on your post. Multidimensionality is a good concept. <<A right wing Libertarian bitches about the regulations on businesses. A left wing Libertarian bitches about drug laws.>> Is there such a thing as a bi-winged Libertarian that bitches about...

tsutt, Wassamatta U? Chemtrails gettin' to ya? Do you believe everything you read on the interwebs? This crayon-sentence looks like a hoax to me. Just another fib made up to stir up tantrums in the mentally crippled. Name of presumed father was mentioned in article. Probably made up. Name of kid - S...

Re: I am radioactive right now.
I think most of us underwent a continuous "nuclear stress test" during our younger years. Duck & Cover (as if that would help), Cuban Missile Crisis, "Fail-Safe", strontium-90 in milk, oh yeah that was the good old days wasn't it? Seriously though, you might want to carry some documentation about yo...

Yup just heard 'em "live on the air" WNYC not 5 minutes ago. Cool primitive production. Love the "chopped" fuzz guitar. Que' retro!
