Re: My Yeti-clone build

I'm going to leave mine alone for a bit. I intended to jump in over my head with this build and I succeeded in doing so. I may attempt an easier build in the mean time. (There is a meeting tomorrow to decide how much of a raise my coworkers and I will all get, so I need a reward of some sort right?)...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

Should I just start over in a bare chassis?

If I don't, what jumps out at you guys apart from my absurdly long runs of wire?

Re: My Yeti-clone build

I worked mostly off of the layout on ceriatone's website and mirror some things incorrectly as far as physical location. That, laziness, and my drive to get the damn thing finished are what caused the excess sloppy wiring.

Re: My Yeti-clone build

Now I'm wishing I had a pre-existing poweramp. had my switched wired wrong. Blew a fuse. fixed that problem adjusted my bias up a bit on one tube at it blew. so I pulled it and the opposite tube for now. If I try to adjusting the bias pots up from min at all I get a huge hum through the speakers. I'...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

I actually left it alone for a while, and just got back to tinkering since I was off this week. My PT doesn't have a 5v tap so I decided to forgo the regulated heater supply and just do normal heaters throughout. In order to make sure I have the amperage I needed to switch the indicator light to a m...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

I drilled a hole and then used a spiral upcut bit on a dremel. The bit kept heating up and deforming the metal. I tried oiling it a little, but it would drip off.

I may just try to use my big router with a small bit and template on the next one.

Re: My Yeti-clone build

I've been mostly lazy this weekend and watched horror movies, but I did get some work done. I fixed the tube sockets the rest of the way and then I mapped out the main board, drilled the turret holes, and started to hammer in the turrets. None of what I drilled out is perfectly lined up, but if anyt...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

I'm building the head cab so it's no issue there. I learned today that "Measure twice, cut once" only works when you have the correct tools. First little hiccup of the build. My hole cutter is 1/16th of an inch too small for my octal sockets. I had to run to one of the bigbox guys in town to get a s...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

Thanks guys.

I'm working with 22x10x3 so I don't have a ton of real estate. I'm going to try 3" center to center and hope she works out.

Re: My Yeti-clone build

As far as the vibe of the amp, from what I understand it is based off of modded marshalls. There are several demos and rave reviews online. I'm going to drill out my own turret board with a kit I got from tubedepot. Yessir M Fowler, slow and steady for this one. For my last build I took to watching ...
