Re: Trying to ID this early combo

If u listen to the Jude Gold "No guitar is safe" podcast he says it's Jackson Browns Ods, it appears to just be a run of the mill second gen ods.

Re: #189 50W Bluesmaster(Ripper?) Photos

Here is the schematic I made based on an informed builder in SoCal. The 500K drive control is on the front panel. This is the only thing I have on it. Gary Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing Gary, much appreciated. I owe you a beer (or a case :) ) Cheerz!~ The inductor is interesting, is this to effect...

Re: #189 50W Bluesmaster(Ripper?) Photos

I've tried out a version of this, with good results. Anybody have any idea of what the overdrive input network might be? I've tried the circuit below, but its not as dynamic, or gainy as I'd hoped. This is what I used, but it's only my best guess: Clean V1a 33k, V1b 220k/500p Grids 120k/150k Plates...

Re: 2nd Generation ODS first power up issue! (Resolved)

This sounds like the grid on one of the (3rd?) triodes is getting too much signal. It will make the signal fade in and out. Is the clean working properly? Does this do this no matter what you're on? Maybe post a pic and someone here can help?

Re: Custom Preamp Project

This is similar to what I did, but i mounted the boards Dumbleator style. Preamps can be tough with noise!I had to mess around with the grounding for quite a while. Shopping for a PCB house now for mine. I also did a passive and buffered output, with a full loop. Mine looks much more crude  You...

Just curious Gil, why did you retire your amps od? Sick of carting a rack around to interface reverb? Seems you followed suit with Robben :)

Yes you are correct. Make V1 B+ the last in your Power Supply, so you're only effecting V1 B+. The OD's B+ is best around 200v.

Try dropping the B+ a tad on V1 plates.

Re: New D'Lite-ish 6V6 powered up, and making noise.

Thanks Duble. Looks like I have a few variances from what you posted. I will itemize the differences, and maybe you can tell me if what I actually did is a problem, or just a difference. BTW, I have "chop-sticked" several times, and didn't have anything jump out at me. So, on to your list. Thanks a...

Re: New D'Lite-ish 6V6 powered up, and making noise.

Grab your chopstick and start tapping if you don't have a scope. More than likely something is getting rattled at high volume causing some sort of transient noise/distortion. You might try these things, and tiding up your lead dress. Twisting your heaters. Follow ODS lead dress on Plate & Cathode wi...

Re: Check this out......

Redshark, if you have access to this amp it would be useful to all if you could get a series of high-res photos, then perhaps a schematic and layout would follow... Martin, I can take more pics but I can't draw schematic because I'm not an electronic tech. Sorry. Forum members will make a Schematic...

Thank you for posting all these pics of this rare example.

Looks like it has 60s era Fender Dual Showman transformers. All I see is one regular choke, not sure where you are seeing two? Only other small transformer I see is the Relay power transformer in the chassis.

Re: Check this out......

Those are the high power fenders, or is it the same transformer on both? This amp also seems to have 2 chokes. I wish i was more knowledgeable to figure this amp out. :D Can you take a pic of the bottom of the chassis? i'm sure you could get an answer if you did that, very smart folks around here :)
