Re: Pre '60 style TV front AC4 build

...... the tube rectifier would never work without a pair of diodes, since the PT has no center tap (thanks to Franco "kagliostro" & Rob "RobRob" for the pictures) https://robrobinette.com/images/Guitar/5E3P_Build/Hybrid-Rectifier.gif I did the same 5 years ago with my tube-modded RM SuperTwin ( ht...

Re: JMI era VOX - Top Boost Unit layout

... Stephen Grosvenor´s book really is great Yes - it is! In addition to turret's/torg's layouts of AC15 & 30 & TB it was the main source to my AC4 to AC30 clones buildings 5 years ago as you can see on the wall behind my working place (first pic - fortunately I found the thread via webarchive link...

Re: 60s Vox AC30 Twin Super Reverb

@sonicmojo for what it's worth - here are some schematics I found years ago when I started cloning my Vox series. JMI used some ceramic phono PU systems to get the spring reverb system working - just like on the stand-alone Reverb Unit they made in the Sixties (Cliff Richard Reverb Unit). Cheers Claus

Re: VOX AC15 [JMI] Replica Layout and schematic

Maybe it is a momentary thing but I cannot see any layout or schematic on any of the four pages... Am I missing something? I think turret's links are all gone - what a shame because he made a beautiful work. I found a link of the AC15-layout v0.1 - fortunately I have all his schems & layouts on my ...

Re: delete

..... a low power push pull amp could be very interesting. Indeed! And I've got already another tube in mind for future plans: QQE03/12 - a quite powerful dual-tetrode (PP). ..... the low cut/ coupling caps on a switch seems like the front runner right now, considering a simple treble roll off is a...

Re: fun vox build

Hi Andy, ..... So I am going to do an AC15 pwr section, top boost channel, ef86 channel..... nice to hear/read! :) I'm just in the middle of doing almost the same (EF86, TB) but with 2x ECL82 (8 W) instead of 2x EL84. The trannies (PT & OT) came from an old tube radio (Schaub-Lorenz 1957) to get a b...

Re: SUPERTWIN (RM): converting from SS to a AC3 Twin Top Boost

Hi there,

can somebody tell me what went wrong with my pics I linked from photobucket?
I can't use FF or Edge or IE because of the well-known problem this site has but when I use Opera all the pics are gone.

Re: Schematic & Layout Drawing?

I just want to mention DIYLC (Windows) which was used by our member Turret. He made great layout drawings: VOX AC15 [JMI] Replica Layout and schematic

Re: delete

Claus, what a cute lil amp you made :-) I see towards the end you changed the pre to ef86, and not sure if you added a cathode follower or kept the tone stack as posted in your schematic. ...... Thank you for the kind words! :) To make things more clear: yes - I kept the tone stack (top boost circu...

Is it only a browser issue but not a site issue?

How do we get rid of this warning which is appearing only using FF but not with Opera & IE? Whitelist, exception, ...?

Re: VOX AC15 [JMI] Replica Layout and schematic

.... Thanks for your great work! Yes - thanks from me too!! :) Just to show how valuable and helpful Turret's work was for me, see Surrounded by Clones ... I hope he'll find the time to do the same work with the AC4, AC10, AC30/4 & AC30/6 TB. It probably doesn't make much of a difference in actual ...

Just to complete the subject: this is how the back looks now with screws in (almost) original style:

The slave output driving a AC30 works fine! :)

Mod Edit: fixed links

Anyone employed this pathway with awesome results? ....
Two days ago I just did this with my Super Twin Conversion. Sounds very nice! :)

I hope this is what you're looking for.
