Re: Seeking Heybor HTS-5199BKW terminal diagram info

If no one here has a diagram I suggest contacting Arlen at Heyboer. He has been very helpful to me when I needed some diagrams...peace!

Re: looking for feedback, suggestions, recomm, do's dont's...

Miles,

Thanks! I was leaning this way because "everywhere" I look, something is getting measured, tracked and calibrated...and yes as you say one tech disruption won't make it all go away.

I don't foresee them being able to offshore all of it either....same with home inspection.

Re: looking for feedback, suggestions, recomm, do's dont's...

Well thanks all! I checked with the community college today and the calibration tech is part of the Electronics section (woot!) and the actual title of the certification is "Process Control" (FWIW) PLUS At least one and prolly all of these will accept all of my credits for the general ed stuff. Bob,...

Re: looking for feedback, suggestions, recomm, do's dont's...

Thanks Phil, I've done Myers-Briggs a couple of times...and perhaps my biggest problem is just not being real excited about another change. I have done several interest profiles. My State of Oregon case worker career counselor doesn't really get "right brain visual spacial" people like me...last wee...

looking for feedback, suggestions, recomm, do's dont's...

So along comes career change number five (last October) and I and 30,000 others got RIF'd. My little corner of the world was as a software business analyst for this multinational behemoth, specifically in the medicare/medicaid realm. Project related work. I wasn't all that heartbroken as it was time...

Re: Quieten the Express

Martin, Looking at the specs, the aY7 is doing what I envisioned from the 5751. In other words it sounds like the aY7 is doing exactly what I wanted from that just a little bit less crunch and grind. Fenderman - YES its got a fat midrange and very smooth. In fact after deciding to go with the aT7, I...

Re: Quieten the Express

...For David and those who may have been curious ... Last weekend I came into a 12aY7, and was a pretty skeptical as the gain on this tube is 44 vs. the aT7 at 60-61% (and of course the ax7 being 100%). Its a good one, old stock GE so I ran it in the PI for about a half hour. Well, its still in ther...

Re: Quieten the Express

RJ, I am shocked.... taking up sides with the purists now are ye? Yeah I tried a few flavors in V1 and when I reversed the at7 (in V1) and the ax7 in PI, it was .. well...Pewwww. Way too surgical and thin as andresound said. I have done a couple other things besides the AT7, but that one in th...

Re: Quieten the Express

The only thing that's prevented me from trying the 12AY7 is ...you guessed it...not having one on hand but I have also been curious about this for more 'n a year. Maybe someone reading this thread has tried it...?

Re: Quieten the Express

Dave, I have a lot more precise control over the level of grit in the sweet spot (around 10:30 to 11:00 on the amp vol) on the guitar vol. pot; to dial in the most versatile range across my guitar volume. Then I clamp down on the amp with the airbrake 2 clicks, AND have a VVR installed trimming abou...

Re: Quieten the Express

I got a *lot* of mileage from what BobS suggested-- I had my volume pot rotated toward the brite caps already, BUT the location of them is critical and chopsticking them around made a pretty huge diff. Note I still have some hiss, but not intolerable, and I use a 12at7 as my PI. Cheers! doh! edit: c...

Re: Ultimate Hammond Conversions thread

1. Really cool build Steve....curious what that chassis came out of, B-1 or 2? Pretty resourceful using a cradle as the case. I have found the same thing through 3 builds it takes a lotta time to clean 'em out vs. building 'em back up. 2. Dragon, I also have one of these chassis but have not yet don...

Re: Express Cut Control ala Vox

I can't say what I did was "most right" but I switched it OUT (open) so I could assess whether the caps were making any difference even with the pot all the way up. For me it was worthwhile because it certainly does make a difference. I have polystyrene on my "to do" list for that also....so I don't...

I'm also curious how much of the tonal diff between your last one and this one is attrib. to the 34 vs. 66, and what you like (or don't).
