Thanks for the info.... I sold my Express I built a couple of years ago. I could only run my amp at 1 or 2 because where I lived at the time I keep thinking I should build another too. Maybe I will. I still have a Pacific 6.6k OT and an express faceplate that I got from RJ That has David Root’s name...

The cabinet and speaker cab is really something, something you would want sitting in you living room...lol

Marcus how does the MV sound in your Express? Does the cut control work well with it?

Oh Phil, you are right, now I remember the schematic was hard to read. from the layout I just drew a rough paper schematic. Sorry I didn't keep it.

I think i looked constantly at Marks build picture and other pictures he attached, to figure everything out.

I used Marks layout/schematic and printed it out just fine. The amp is good, but I like my JCM800 better which I also built. (These 2 amps are similar to me) but the JCM has more character But everyone has different tastes..... I think you can google the retro 50 layout and it might be a better, res...

Marcus I put in a greenback in a Princeton clone that I made and it sounds great. The back is almost fully closed. I preferred it that way.

Sorry to hear that Martin. I bought matched el84s in the past and some 5881’s from them, and they seemed closely matched By the plate voltage, maybe I’ve been lucky. Food for thought. I haven’t ordered tubes in a while because my dollar is only worth 75 cents... But I will need/want 2 kt66’s for a R...
