I'm guessing the extra 12ax7 is for either an effects loop or more gain stages?

Mike
Yes, it's kinda like a stripped-down Friedman Smallbox with a tube-buffered loop and foot-switchable solo boost.

Marshall 5010 rebuild

Using my own PCBs and some Heyboer transformers to turn a solid-state Marshall Master Lead into a killer tube amp.

FS: PCBs for your projects

PCBs for sale! I've followed a modular approach, with power supply PCB separated from the rest of the amp PCB. I've also put tone stacks and front-panel switches on a separate PCB. Most amp PCBs are designed for guitar input on the left, but I have reversed my 'Caldera FX' PCB to have guitar input o...

FS: chassis for your projects

Aluminum chassis for sale. I had these made locally for my own projects, but I'm not building as actively at the moment. Drilled for IEC, 8- and 9-pin tube sockets, input and output jacks, loop, 8mm pots, and a bunch of miniature switches. Tack welded corners. 12 gauge aluminum (~2mm; .08") Two size...

Are the four fuses for the PT HV secondaries and heaters?

Mike

latest amp build

Hi All, Just wanted to share with you an amp that I am happy with. Everything is my own design, but the circuit shares DNA with Soldano SLO and Marshall. PCBs were designed in Eagle and manufactured (but not assembled) over seas. Power transformer is from Heyboer, output transformer and choke are fr...

Re: New product alert

It looks like the diameter is 20.3; the notch adds ~2 mm.

Does anyone have a bit or punch for 20.3 mm?

Re: Which circuit do you guys prefer?

I prefer the 5k too. I just don't like the sweep of the 25kB (with || 4k7 R) pot.
