Are you still on your bulb limiter or Variac?

Re: Liverpool build. HELP PLEASE.
I also noticed on the bad layout that only one side of the power supply bias is grounded. A couple of suggestions once you get some sound. You might want to use a shielded wire on the input, grounded at the jack. Some people will go as far as using shielded wire going from the volume pot to pin 2 on...

Re: Liverpool build. HELP PLEASE.
Could you post the layout and do you have a schematic? I see on the one layout I have that they did not hook up the inner EL84 cathodes. Instead they are going to heaters. The schematic looks correct, the layout looks wrong. I'd also like to see the power supply. I'm going to throw in this revised l...

Re: I've started again.....Rocket
They may make a difference down the line, although I have not built an EL84 amp that didn't like JJs.

Re: Rickenbacker B-16 Supersonic
I'm just looking for general information on it. I'm asking has anyone owned one, knows someone who owned one, and their general impression of it. Until I get one actually in front of me I won't know if the schematics are accurate, or if people tend to mod them to the point where they're unrecognizab...

Re: Rickenbacker B-16 Supersonic
Good to know. Design wise very straightforward. But the way they did things then vs. now, made me think it could be beefed up in certain areas. Thanks for the info.

Rickenbacker B-16 Supersonic
Anyone had any experience with a Rickenbacker B-16 Supersonic. A friend of mine is picking one up and wants me to go through it. It's the non-tremelo type. I have a schematic and have dug through the interweb for images, joined a number of "Ricky" forums, but not a lot of information is floating aro...

Re: recommendations for next amp build
I know you want to stick with EL84 world, which is where I usually dwell, but for my next guitar amp project I'm going to attempt a one channel version of the Gibson GA-40. Two 6v6's rated somewhere around 18W. I'm going with the tremelo channel on this one. I really enjoy the sound of the 5879.

Re: Trainwreck express big troubles! Red plating
I can't see what's going on under your power supply board, but on the face of it, it looks like your bias pot isn't hooked up, and there's a possibility of some grounding problems in that same area.
