Lowering Negative bias voltage
I have been given a set of Transformers from a 1965 Sansui 1000a. I'm attempting to put them to use in a 40ish watt 6L6 amp. It has a 32 v tap (unloaded) which I fear will be too low for 2 6L6s. Sansui used that tap to get -19 volts for a quad of 7591s. I made up a doubler that gives me around -80v ...

Now waiting for laminations to begin flaking off like leaves in the NE autumn. Im going to start a new thread now asking about twisting wire pairs first from the PT. Tha...

Isn't that the Kabonger that El Kabong used back in the day? (Only the older guys that watched Quickdraw McGraw will know what I'm talking about!)

Re: Choice of wood finish?
Marine spar varnish that I used to use on the mahogany woodwork on my boat that was outside in the rain, sun, walked on, bumped against, salt water, fish guts, and scrubbed with a stiff brush would still look new for a year. It would surely stand up to a teapot.

Crate Stealth Head to 2x12 conversion
My friend is getting a little long in the tooth to be lugging around Crate Stealth head and 4x12 Jackson cab so I built this 2x12 Bluesbreaker style combo cab. Still a bit heavy but not near as bad as before!

Different takes on 18watt TMBs
I've built several 18s lately and oddly enough have gotten more requests for ammo crate cabs than nice Sour Mash cabs.
Maybe I just hang out with too many trashy folks.

I re-purpose everything I can. 1. A/B/Y in a wax can. 2. Pedal Car...Orman Clean boost in diecast car with leds in headlights. 3. Prince Albert...Orange squeezer for shoulder strap mounting ala Billy Gibbons. 4. My favorite "Clown Tone"...Dallas Arbiter Fuzzface in a 50s candy tin. His nose is led.

Re: Latest speaker cab
It was Birch plywood that I got from a shelving unit back. All wood was salvaged from the library that was torn down at the high school I work at. I used kerfs and a steam Iron over damp towel.
