That is gorgeous beyond words!
Hey Distortion do you ever use any dyes or anything? I'd like a head cab that is a trans red.

Re: Express with 6V6 Vs. Fuchs Blackjack 21
hmm. are you looking to build or buy? if buy, i build a 6V6 express style. should have plenty of gain for you. germ I'm thinking build, but I'm so apprehensive about building/buying something I've got sooo little idea about playing through. That's why I tried the Fuchs, I figured it would be as clo...

Express with 6V6 Vs. Fuchs Blackjack 21
Sorry if this is rehashing a thread I missed while doing my searches...but I'd really like to know how an Express with 6V6s compares to a Fuchs Blackjack 21....since I'm guessing that's what the Blackjack is modeled after? I went to Boutique Guitar Exchange in Atlanta this last weekend and played th...

In the Tube Amp Handbook by Dave Hunter Ken mentioned in his interview that he thought TFs were important. However, they don't deserve the amount of reverence people give them nowadays. He said he could make any "decent" TF sound good....but then again....that's Ken Fischer!

Re: Maybe I missed it but...
That will be a good idea. Actually Jim sent some original Pre-rolas to Ted for cloning. I know he had some recone kits with those specs. Don't know if he ran out of those. There are some clips of Jim's speakers at the gear page forum..... Good stuff! I'm just so torn because I want to try some alni...

Re: Maybe I missed it but...
Well there seems to be a debate about what speakers sounds best with the Wrecks. I read that Ken actually preferred G12H (Pre-rolas) not Ms with a 014 cone 55Hz on a 4x12...Then I read on forums that the best sound out of them is using a 4x12 G12Ms Pre-rolas. I use a custom build Bob Burt 2x12 load...

Re: Maybe I missed it but...
The ultimate sound for my express is a 4 12 Hiwatt bottom cab with g12m 55hz blackbacks. That's too loud for any of the gigs I play so I am constantly trying out different speakers in different 2 12 cabinets. Last night I just put a celestion blue alnico with a g12-65 and that sounds really good. I...

Maybe I missed it but...
...what speakers are you guys using with your Wrecks? (btw I did use the search function :) ) Celestions? Webers? Eminences? Particularly with the Expresses. I was thinking maybe a Weber Blue Dog Alnico and Ceramic, mixing mag types seems to give some pretty cool results IMO. Most of the clips I see...
