Re: Seeking suggestions to modify Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster 50
Martin, I have a general understanding of schematics, but would not profess expertise, and thank you for confirming correct ID of the caps/resister. Can you (or anyone else) recommend good books to get a grip on understanding how the amps work, beyond just the "big picture". Can anyone help me w/big...

Re: Seeking suggestions to modify Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster 50
Martin, Thanks for the reply. I changed out the impedance switch which now works fine. The old switch was defective. I also located a broken filament wire once I removed the tubes and re-checked for pin voltage w/o them conducting. That quickly located the break which has been corrected. Sorry for p...

Re: Seeking suggestions to modify Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster 50
Thanks. Jack, what you describe is what I'm dealing with presently. I'm exploring different speakers & cabinet designs as well, but at this point as a Noob I'm trying to gather sufficient understanding of how these things work to make intelligent choices re: changes. As far as where the issue lies, ...

Seeking suggestions to modify Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster 50
Hi All, I recently completed this build and, unfortunately, am far from impressed with the amp. I find it to be extremely dark and muddy. Must dial the mid and bass controls near zero and crank the treble to get a useable tone. I'm running through a C-Lator and generally have to use one or both of t...

Re: Seeking Help - V1 & 2 not working
Thanks so much! This build has been a major learning process. I was not aware that the filaments of the tube would conduct current despite the flawed joint and give me misread. Pulling them has indeed identified the poor joint. Thanks again. Don't know how long this would have taken me to figure out...

Seeking Help - V1 & 2 not working
New Bluesmaster 50 build. Was up and running fine, all tubes working, with the exception of a bad impedance switch. Swapped that out tonight and all of a sudden V1 & V 2 are not heating up. There is 3.51VAC at each of the filament poles, and the tubes heat fine if placed in another amp or at the PI ...

Re: Seeking help debugging Ceriatone Bluesmaster 50
I've been so caught up in debugging mode that I never considered that. I suppose the od level operates as MV for that channel? 'll check the manual. Thx

Re: Seeking help debugging Ceriatone Bluesmaster 50
After messing around w/this for a while, I've discovered that the master volume works on the clean channel, but does nothing on the OD channel. Isn't this a control which should either work or not work? I double checked the connections for it again, and cannot find anything wrong in terms of how it ...

Re: Seeking help debugging Ceriatone Bluesmaster 50
new issues now that I have sound. 1. My master volume does absolutely nothing. Wiring is as per layout. When set at zero, the signal does ground out as would be expected w/a pot. 2. There is a very significant amount of noise. Kind of a mix b/t hum & buzzing, and when levels are all the way up almos...

Re: Seeking help debugging Ceriatone Bluesmaster 50
As the OT is certainly one item in the suspect chain, I started trying to test the resistance reading of the OT. Drained caps, removed power tubes. Tested the primary leads running to power tube sockets, but the numbers on my DMM were dancing all over the place. Tried to test the secondary leads and...
