That helps. Other than voltage ratings, what should I look for, for a filter cap?

Fender Deville Faceplate?
I came across a Fender Deville for a good price but the faceplate is rusted. Where would I get a good replacement faceplate for it?

Re: Hot Rod Deville with No Output
Ok it’s all good now. After the new resistors and reflowing solder on the phase inverter socket and ribbon cable, fire it up and it works great!
Thanks for the help everyone!

Re: Hot Rod Deville with No Output
Are you plugged into the correct speaker jack ? It happens, not being snarky,.. if your in the second jack, you’ll get shit for output.. No offense taken. I used to do computer maintenance. I don’t know how many service calls I went on only to find it wasn’t plugged in! Its the simple things... Had...

Re: Hot Rod Deville with No Output
bad PI tube bad plate load resistors. They fail all the time (crap part). Replace both with one watt. Usually one dies, rare for both, but it's a start. :) Thanks fuchsaudio. Replaced both of them and at least have sound now. Output is very low though and it distorts around 3 or so on the clean lik...

Hot Rod Deville with No Output
I have a Fender Hot Rod Deville that was given to me by a buddy. I don’t think it’s more than a few years old. It had stopped working and he didn’t want to fix it. He said it had sound when you turned it on but it would get faint and just stop after a couple of minutes. I couldn’t get it to make any...

Re: Merlin's Practical Serial Effects Loop layout
I want to try this. If I were going to put a control pot on the return, would I put a 1M pot in place of the 1M resistor, or put a coupling cap after the 100K resistor and then a 1M or something like that value going to the phase inverter? Just replace 1M with pot. To me, this is unnecessary, becau...

Re: Silverface Vibrochamp Issues
I have an old Silverface Vibrochamp with issues. I got a new set of JJ tubes and when I plug in the new 5Y3 rectifier tube and power up, the first string resistor after the rectifier tube smokes. I figured the resistor probably needed to be replaced anyway so I replaced it with a 1K 5W. on power up...

Re: Silverface Vibrochamp Issues
Put your old 6V6 back in. Resistor still smoke? Thanks slucky. Put the old 6V6 in and it behaves. Pulled that one and put a broken in 6V6 with about 40 hours on it from another amp in also. Behaves with that one too. Looks like it may have been a bad 6V6 from the factory? I'll have to find someone ...

Re: Anyone Used Tayda Pot Switches?
I sent a query to Tayda. They're 150V AC and 30V DC. They are 1/2W pots though. Would they still work or would it be better to have a higher DC rated pot?
