Re: Getting rid of a channel - Vibroverb

I want to do the opposite (removing the trem circuit instead of the reverb) because I never use it but I'm not sure how to terminate it..

Re: Diabetes has struck.

I was getting close to being type II a few years ago and after much research on my part I cut out HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) from EVERYTHING I eat or drink. That was hard, it's in most of the processed food and almost all soft drinks except diet drinks. But I did it and dropped my triglycerides...

Re: Steel chassis - aluminum plugs??

Combining different metals is always risky but if you put your ground wires to the steel chassis you should be ok. I have an amp that I did the same thing with and haven't had any issues.

Re: 200Watt AB763

Set him (or her) up with a Crown PA amp and a pair of EAW stacks if they want to be that loud.

I've been getting posting errors too, don't re-post when you get that, just go back to the page you were reading and reload it. Your new post will be there.

Check the speaker ID sites and compare your codes there, mine came with a Jensen Alnico 35/40w 12".

Re: Ultimate Hammond Conversions thread

Funny but so far through this build, I kept telling myself it isn't worth the extra hassle of salvage/rebuild....then I end up picking this up for the cost of gas... I just picked up an M100 like that a couple of weeks ago. Eleven tubes on the amp... when I get my current project done I'm going to ...

Re: What do you guys think about this?

When you say 22uf "bypass" cap on each tube, what are you referring to? I don't recall seeing caps on any power tubes in the amps I've worked on.

Re: What do you guys think about this?

This is what I came up with for the layout. Obviously the remainder of the pots aren't listed, this is just the board & components.

Re: What do you guys think about this?

I'm not necessarily looking for a Vox tone, just something that speaks out with some attitude without being brash. I used that portion of a Vox schematic (minus two power tubes) because it was the quickest EL84 amp to find at the time. I'm also very open to other '84 power amp designs if you guys do...

Re: What do you guys think about this?

I figured the AT would drive the EL84s more than the AX but that's opposite of what it would actually do since the AX has more gain, right?

And by the 47/51K are you talking about changing the 100K resistors on the PI plates?
hair in the PI (nooo pun intended!)
LOL! That made me laugh! :)

What do you guys think about this?

I want to build a low-wattage amp that has a chimey (Fender-style) preamp but will break up smoothly for a nice blues tone for small venues. EL84s seem like a good fit so if you don't mind I'd like some critique of this design. It's a take-off on a Vox power amp with a Fender pre-amp. It's going in ...
