Re: 80's KMD Donor For SSS Build...Requesting input please

Hey all, I've shelved this project for a while, but I'm ready to get it back out and mess with it again. I'm using this old KMD to build a SSS02 type amp. My issue is that I only have real estate for 5 preamp tubes, so I want to use the Fender AB763 reverb circuit because it only uses 2 tubes. The p...

Re: Matamp/Orange GT120 build

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I'll do my best to keep this thread updated as I go. I do have a question I'm hoping y'all can help me with. They are calling for polystyrene caps for the filter on this build. I've found some in the values I need, but they are rated 50V. I should be OK since this ...

Re: 18 Watt OT & Choke Placement

Thanks for the input guys. I'd like to try that headphone trick out sometime. I'll build it this way!

Mark

PS- I'll be putting the remains of the combo chassis up for sale soon.

18 Watt OT & Choke Placement

I picked up a partial 18W build that was in a combo chassis. I'm building a head version, and I wanted some thoughts on placing the choke and OT. I realize that most 18W builds don't have a choke, but the chassis came with a set of Mercury iron for the 18W that includes a choke, so I may as well use...

Now to get some box caps ordered from Mouser and I can start populating the board.

Help a brother out on a Mercury Magnetics order?

I'm getting ready to build a Matamp GT120, and I'd really like to use their Toneclone iron for the build. They sell the Orange OR120 iron, which is identical specs to the Matamp GT120. I've never ordered anything from them before, and I was hoping that a forum member with a history of ordering from ...

Re: I don't want a pickle

New to riding, something my wife and I have always wanted to do, but for some reason the timing wasn't right. She'll be delivered on Tuesday, 2006 Heritage Deluxe. Looking forward to getting on the road. We both completed a motorcycle riding/safety course this weekend :) Mark I have just three word...

Matamp/Orange GT120 build

After finding this website about a year ago: http://hilbishdesign.bigcartel.com/ I decided to build one. The chassis look top notch, as well as the PC board. I have the board in hand, I'll have to wait a couple weeks on the chassis. Got a white one with a silk screened front plate. From the pics on ...

Re: No Nickel Cliff Jacks?

Yes Mark, that's what I said. Try it by going to Jacks & Plugs and filtering by "1/4" Jacks" instead of Cliff, you'll get most of the other Cliffs, just not the model we are talking about! This is what I get: https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/jacks_plugs?filters=Type%3D1/4%22%20Jacks Hence the ...

Re: No Nickel Cliff Jacks?

Blindog, WOW, depending how you search! If you go to AES and click "Jacks & Plugs" then filter by "1/4" Jacks" they won't show up, but if you filter by brand "Cliff" INSTEAD of 1/4" there they are! Ever since AES "UPDATED" their site a few months back, searching their site has become problem...

Re: No Nickel Cliff Jacks?

According to the Cliff website, the manufacture's part number is CL1298A. It is part of the S4 family of jacks. http://www.cliffuk.co.uk/products/jacksockets/s4.htm Maybe this is just a Newark issue? I see them in stock at Antique Electronics Supply, S-H901 https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/jack...
