Re: Questions about popping noise
ok slowly, education no need to be high, self yes, practice is more important to develop what to put where, but build fundaments before. read at least this book, and many answers you can find there about tube operations and then proceed with experiments https://www.lulu.com/shop/merlin-blencowe/des...

Re: Questions about popping noise
@psichepool sorry to be direct and realistic, but high gain amp is the most complex amp what is existing and you need to be very experienced to handle this.. pls buy some books first and read about the tubes..you are just jumping the steps with holes in knowledge.. you are falling on basics like gr...

Re: Questions about popping noise
That’s not what the first reply to your post was questioning. You referred to a 12AX7 as a pentode when it’s not, in fact the whole large number of the 12A series of tubes ( 12ax7 av7, au7, at7 and others) are all duel triode tubes. They can perform 2 separate amplification functions in other words...

Re: Questions about popping noise
say what??? I guess the sentence was unnecessarily complicated. What I mean is that I want to configure a preamp using a total of three 12ax7s. I am making amps in a small chassis of the same size, and there is not enough space to increase the number of tubes, so I want to make it with as few tubes...

Re: Is there a way to measure the amount of supply current in the 2nd tabs of the Power Transformer?
Thank you for your all reply. At my level of knowledge, I don't think there is anything I can easily understand or try. Because I always do tight builds, if there is a problem with the transformer, I have to dismantle all the internal parts to replace it with a new one, so I am careful. Using EL34 i...

Questions about popping noise
I was interested in the composition of Orange Dual Dark, so I looked at the related circuits. I can't find Dual Dark's official circuit, so I have to guess, but judging from the tube layout, I'm guessing that the Jim Root Terror and Dark Terror preamps are probably assigned to each channel and switc...

Is there a way to measure the amount of supply current in the 2nd tabs of the Power Transformer?
When I make an amp, I don't make a 1:1 copy of a specific model, but I make it by omitting or modifying some parts, so I order and use the Power Transformer from the local shop as the necessary specifications. If I mention the list of tubes or ICs that go into the amplifier I will make, the shop mak...

Re: Signal mute when wiring is tied with cable ties?
Have you done a LIVE (amp on and in operate) tick test? With the master moderated so you don't jump if it POPS start at the PI input with a safe tool and touch each point in the signal path backwards toward the input. The first place you expect noise but detect nothing will tell you exactly what ar...

Re: Signal mute when wiring is tied with cable ties?
Could the signal be canceled out due to the proximity of the gain pot line, EQ line, and master volume line of the same channel? I think it makes a little sense, but I can't think of any other reason. cannot. you need a ocilloscope to find ot where is broken line, over the internet nobody can answe...

Signal mute when wiring is tied with cable ties?
I recently completed my own diesel VH4 build. To prevent the wiring from shaking and causing a malfunction, adjacent wiring was tied together with cable ties. I was using it well, but when I turned it on one day, there was no sound. I looked around but couldn't find the problem, so I untied the cabl...

Re: Bogner Uberschall ultra schematic?
Uber Ultra appears to be composed of two gain channels like twin jets, rather than a clean channel/gain channel configuration like the early circuit. If I could find a twin jet circuit, it would be a very helpful reference for the basic configuration, but it is also difficult to find. However, I fou...

Bogner Uberschall ultra schematic?
Recently, I have built several high gain amplifiers with my own configuration. Whenever I was selecting list for the circuit I wanted to make, Bogner uberschall was always included. I thought it was attractive because the low-end, which felt a bit loose compared to other high-gain amplifiers, had a ...

Re: Sloclone Forum login or register failure
We can do HG here. It won't be today, but I'll bet we can get a topical section for just that. We actually should have a long time ago. I'll start begging. I don't know what kind of amp I'll make next. There are many on the list that are not high gain amps. However, high gain circuits and discussio...

Re: Sloclone Forum log in or resistor falue
It has been a year since a conversation with a friend who mentioned similar problems.. it may well be dead. That's bad news. I hope that's not true. There seems to be a login issue periodically there. What is the reason? @psychepool Nowadays in EU or in US you can buy complete or partial kit for SL...

Re: Marshall Hot Rod diode clipping connection method difference?
Actually, let's call this what is really is... It is the Peavey VT Saturation circuit. lol.. Dave... what a huckster. YES see that 1M is grounded? Look at the average Jose setup. It shows diodes (or the crippled spider) strapped over the outer lugs of a 1M pot. When you get bored of that rig, try s...
