Re: Looks like Quinn is going under

"Wish I had an ignore button for the whole bunch of you TBH." Use your will power and ignore it. You don't need a button dude! And I don't know what you have contributed to this forum but as for Andy or myself we have added to the knowledge base several times over and so I "think" that gives us a li...

Re: Looks like Quinn is going under

Damn... Where on earth do people get these things. Does someone out there hate enough to just make up false lies and gossip? Must be. I should have known better to read too much... For the record... Greg Clark did some clips for me... That is it. No association to me or Quinn what so ever... If he r...

Re: Looks like Quinn is going under

Andy... Thank you so kindly for your concern. ;O) No love lost between us is there? Folks relax. Yeah I have gotten poor at communications. Yeah I had months of health issues, yes I am way behind. But we are here. I am working hard everyday to complete my commitments. On the road to full health. Des...

Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay

Eric sorry I missed your questions m8. No not pretty but works just fine. I determined early on that sockets didn't do much for me. Knock on wood relays have been pretty good to me so far. Never any heat issues going in and can't really recall any trouble with them other then my own error. I prefer ...

Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay

IIRC I was getting them from allparts. They do require a little modification though!! They have a center detent that needs to be removed. You'll also have to trick the mid pot for the HRM (it's a variable resistor so you can lay an R across it to make it whatever you want... and if you really want t...

Re: My quest to build the $25k Dumble double baffle 4x12

The type of lumber core HAD used is not available anymore... if some one tells otherwise they are full of beans. They have not made that type of for 30+ years... This Luan stuff is useless and nothing like it either. Sorry to be a pisser but I once went down this road before and it leads to no where.

Re: Fender Sleeper Amp? Brown Deluxe!

True they are no longer sleepers...but not that long ago they were in deep sleep...for decades! When QA released the brown derby there was no other such offering ave the Allen amp which used a different PI circuit. Then Ampeg released a hand wired version and believe there are several others as well...

Re: Fender Sleeper Amp? Brown Deluxe!

What those gents said, spot on! Angry and mini Marshall are definitely good descriptors. Here is a brown deluxe... if you can trust BG that is. You'll notice that the lamp is not on. ;O) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u9vMo4bEFw Both great sounds but certainly different. I love the blonde and brown...

Fender Sleeper Amp? Brown Deluxe!

Without a doubt the dirtiest vintage fender ever made and one of the biggest sleepers ever.
Not that this adds anything to this new forum but hey ...it's a fender and a sleeper... so yeah.
Cheers

Nice to see new sub forums here.

I'd stick with NTE flameproofs for the plates and cathodes.

Re: #183 build thread started!

I think TM meant to use 22uf axial if you have them...
Hit mouser for some radial 47's or fetch some 22uf/500v axial and you'd be good to go.
