Re: Crazy gain pot???
Thanks guys I have cleaned the pots with contact cleaner and put my multimeter across it and it seems to be reading a normal range, as in as you would expect a good pot to behave.... As the tree said to the lumber jack I'm stumped...

Crazy gain pot???
Hey guys not a valve amp, but I'm having an issue with my 1986 marshall 5212 2x12 fifty spilt reverb combo. Basically the gain pot does nothing until it gets to 3/4 of the way up then bam it all comes on at once. Basically the pot only works in the last 1/4 of its range and it's super sensitive. Lik...

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
Actually I just worked out how I can use this chassis I'm making, by mounting the pots and so on on a seperate piece of corner aluminium section I can make them float 2" above the chassis (mounting the chassis 2" lower in the cab), I could then cut off the top surface that pots are sitting on in the...

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
I'm probably having to buy another piece of alum box section 30mm wider to accommodate the pots they look like they will foul the turret

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
I've still got a cup full of caps and resistors that I haven't used yet... I ordered all the parts on the parts list only to find only half of them were to be mounted on the turret board. Among those parts is an unused elec cap 22uf 450v. It's the same as the two mounted on the board, would that be ...

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
Yeah that filter cap talk is way over my head. I'm in the process of cutting out my chassis right now, a pretty narrow long one to fit my can it's gonna be a tight squeeze. 100mm wide 50mm deep and 530mm long. Transformers up one end valves up the other.

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
How would I go about wiring it up with not the one input Jack, permanent jumpereed internally? Also I only have the one cap-can its 32+32uf -10+30%500v
Also only one speaker out at 8ohm no impedance selector.

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
Yes the inputs are internally jumpered on my board. Mains voltage here is 240v, my pt has 2x120v taps which I was told by the seller I wire in series (or maybe parrallel) for the 240v. Have you got a link martin?

Re: HUSS 6v6 layout
I should mention I have all the parts listed on the Huss website as far as caps cans and resistors go. I've got a choke, a 8k-8ohm 20w ot and a 270v-0-270v pt. the pt is a little lower voltage then the one huss used but I've been told it world work ok as it's closer to original marshall specs, if I ...
