I'll chime in.....

You have a method.

It's not following the herd.

It works.

Re: [QUESTION] Birch Plywood vs Poplar vs Pine

Russ,

That is top drawer work, man

Like the wood choices, wood corners and natural stain idea.

I've heard walnut oil will polymerize (set up), but with the outside of the old bottle still sticky I've not risked it.

(I use pure tung oil).

May try the tea bag stain.
Hi I’m about to take the plunge and put a 10 position Freeway switch into my Strat. Any thoughts or recommendations? https://www.freewayswitch.com/
My thoughts would be to use test leads and see what you like before you solder. Also, I ...

Re: How to fix Mini Maglite 2 AA Battery Model?

I caught that As far as the mini mag goes, I've had to take the business end off one and the barrel of another to end up with one functioning unit after the same problem. Just found a full size old mag lite and I couldn't get it open with two pair of pump pliers. Old batteries seem to make a good al...

PAB

Hi, all-

Searched for Dumble PAB and search ignored PAB and searched for Dumble.

Searched for PAB and search wants four letter minimum.

So the question remains ... what might a PAB be?

Thanks, ric

Re: Heretical Build

Like the built-in handles. The chassis finish is also clever. I use mop on as well. I've found "Sharpie" marker pens That are too dried up to use, if broken open and soaked in alcohol for a gloss or acetone for a matte finish, give a " tie-dyed" look that can be oversprayed with a clearcoat. The cle...

Re: JCM 800 combo conversion - Better final picture

You folks set the woodworking bar pretty high around here. Very tidy Geeze. Again, I like the hardwood corners. Form following function. It doesn't just look good, it's functional. Makes me want to try a pine combo with walnut or red oak corners and maybe edging. I'll save the metal corners for my f...

Re: JCM 800 combo conversion - Better final picture

Geeze,
Did you cut the bottom ply fingers short and put in individual blocks to show paduk finger joints on the bottom of the sides?
The corner blocks are a good idea. Looks good and using harder material gives corner protection if using a softer body wood. I want to remember that trick.
