Thanks. I hope to post audio samples some time down the road. My home studio is in disarray right now.

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Added the one wire missing on the Mid / Deep switch and everything is working now. Added the logo on the front. Here she poses.

martin manning wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2017 8:02 pm You should definitely hear the mid boost when it is engaged... Looks like you are missing the jumper across the bottom two lugs.
Well that's an easy one to miss on the layout. WOW. Thanks Martin!

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

1. The Preamp Boost I believe bypasses the EQ stack and the amp acts accordingly, the EQ changes make no difference. Does it add anything? Doesn't add anything, just takes less away ;^). 2. The Deep switch does seem to make any noticeable difference. What should I be hearing? You have a deep switch...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Maybe mixing a layout and a schematic... I think you were mostly following the C-tone 100W high-plate layout, but the ODS 124 (low plate) Skyliner schematic was referenced a number of times. They are close, but not identical. A layout is a drawing showing the physical arrangement of components and ...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Great! Overall sounds like it went pretty smoothly considering you mixed two different layouts. You aren't the first to miss a speaker output or filament circuit ground. Martin when you say mixing two layouts do you mean schematics? The reason I ask is I know the schematic we were working with did ...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Well the MIDI cable showed up yesterday after arriving home after the amp checkout. Looks like my perspective was backwards on the female DIN on the amplifier making things backwards on the footswitch. Rather than messing with the amp I re-wired the footswitch and everything is working there as well...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Had a very successful checkout with the amplifier today with my amp technician Aubrey Page. Doing a very thorough pass through, we caught one ground wire from the speaker jacks to ground that was missing and got one in place. The only other problem we had was the 15K carbon comp resistor on the bias...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Certainly good for ballpark values. Your PT may not have the same spec, you may have different plate resistor values in your amp, and the variation among tubes alone could cause differences of 5 or 10V. The power tube voltages will be set when you bias them, so those values will fall out for your p...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Well I will be working with a professional amp builder when we fire this up for the first time. I pulled this from the OTS 100 tab from the Voltage spreadsheet from Ceriatone. Can someone confirm these are the correct voltages I should be working with?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Actually on the combo I just built I didn't bother putting a connector on the footswitch and just wired 5 meters of star quad cable to a 5 pin din plug at the amp end and had it hard wired at the footswitch end. As Martin said, as long as the plugs and sockets are compatible it doesn't matter what ...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

I use a Hammond black coated FX pedal box and drill it out for the two switches, two LED's and a midi 5 pin din socket. use another midi 5 pin din socket on the back of the amp, star quad cable and some 5 pin connectors and you're good to go. footswitch.JPG Marcus I am thinking of doing something v...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W

Parallel the primaries for 120V operation (connect 1 and 3, and 2 and 4). For the secondary you can use 5 and 7 or 8 and 7. Martin you seem to know the most about the The Hammond 186B12 that I am using for the relays. For the 120 Volt should I just connect 1 and 2 at the same points as the White an...

martin manning wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2017 2:08 am Like this, but be aware of the the issues with using only one fuse on the CT ground (red/yel) lead I mentioned above. The better (two fuses) system would require that you add another fuse holder.
Thanks Martin. Now I've got it :-)
