I have seen many tubes drift closer to matching after a few hrs of burning in. also what PDF64 said

Re: Rectangle panel hole punch set

Mark, Care to share the source/price? I've considered getting one for IEC holes a few times but lost interest after seeing prices. I don't build a lot but every time I start cutting an IEC hole I wish I'd spent the $$ im with Deric, the cost has scared me away but once your working you immed wish y...

Clouds in the Sky - Wishful dreaming

Hi Folks!, I am working on mocking up an idea and would appreciate some input. Since the weeee baby arrived I haven't had much chance to play guitar. rigging up stuff to play through headphones in my recording software is too cumbersome for me and leaves me frustrated. I hardly use any pedals, plug ...

Re: Pawn shop find.

I would personally gut and rebuild into a cool SE amp.. that might be blasphemy for some but I see items like that on kijiji all the time. would prob need some work if you plan on keeping to use anyways.

Bogner uses these switches. Mouser carries them, I had ordered one a few years back. Schurter 0033.4032 hidden under voltage selector switches.

I have no vote on which platform. I have zero experience but I will download the agreed upon platform to have some fun and learn :-) I have ordered a bunch of hoffmans relay and relay PS boards. those would be helpful in custom builds.

Re: building etiquette

As pointed out by others, most peoples experience with PCB amps have been commercial, value engineered pieces of crap. Maybe a new sub-forum could be started here to explore well executed PCB designs and develop some best practices. I think it would be cool to develop some standard boards for power...

Re: Ceriatone OTS Mini Build Help

Maybe it's the dark image, or my old eyes, but many of the solder joints look starved. The solder doesn't appear to flow smoothly from the lead to the hole. If this is how they actually look, I'd apply more heat to the lead and flow a little more solder. I have had dozens of amps come in that peopl...

that's the plan. I had ordered a cheap ebay one and it worked for 5 mins before blowing, so I was trying to run it without a PS. those LED strips def require its own 1A supply.
