Hello, no, not necessarily gtkamps. I didnt think the BUD chassis were still around/available.
I was also looking for a pre-cut/punched chassis.
Kind regards,
Bill

Liverpool Chassis Wanted
Hello,
I'm looking to buy a chassis for a Liverpool build, as close as possible (within reason) to original spec.
Any suggestions please?
Kind regards,
Bill

Transformer ID and date needed
Hello,
I just picked up a Guild 98RT amp.
Pretty cool. It works but has a couple issues.
I don't regognize the transformer codes though.
Can anybody help me with the manufacturer
and date on these..?
See attached images.

Re: Express 1x12 build
Hey Lee,
Thanks for your post.
That's wonderful. That idea sounds like its right up my alley.
I'm not familiar with that speaker though (Neo).
I'll look into it. I agree Creamback is hard to beat.
Thanks!
Bill

Re: Express 1x12 build
Hello,
I enjoyed the Tweedle-Dee audio clip.
Good tone. Nice playing.
Sweet.!
I like the idea of the AX84 cab. I could imagine that and a head sounding more up my alley than a combo.(?)
Not familiar with source of those cabs, or head box to match..

Re: Express 1x12 build
I've never had Alnico speakers. Came close a couple times. Somehow I thought they were better for clean-ish tones. I've heard good things about those Creme speakers though. I wonder if anybody has any Express + Alnico speaker experience to relate. With my other Express (head) builds I've been using ...

Re: Express 1x12 build
Hey Mark, Thanks for the info and photos. I could probably deal with the extra weight. I'll look harder at the Marshall stuff you mentioned; cab/chassis I've seen those for sale. I think I could work with that. I'm still grapeling with speaker choice. I was thinking Celestion G12-65 And the "open ba...

Express 1x12 build
Hello, I've built three Express heads. I love them, they sound great. And I learned alot. I'm thinking of doing a 1x12 6v6 combo now, because it would be easier to carry around. I was wondering if I could shoe-horn it all into like a Fender Princeton box/chassis, if the tubes would rattle, or if it ...

Re: Plexi Rehab
Hello, Thanks for the message. Yes, the amp does have plexi panels. Sadly, there are two extra holes in the back panel from some kind of mod in the past. So the value has already taken a hit. (not that I would ever sell it, it was my main amp from back in the day). I did remove the mustard caps. I u...

Re: Old Fender Speaker Sound and ID
Thanks Martin, you're the man. Ive used these speakers with my Wreck builds, Plexi, Bassman, etc. They always sound good. My usual is: greenbacks, G12H30, and Vintage-30 Celestions. I use them all. I bought a new Vox AC30 amp with green-backs in it and wasnt real happy with the sound. It was just-OK...

Old Fender Speaker Sound and ID
Hello,
I'm usually more of a Celestion kind of guy, but these Fender labeled 12 inch speakers sound good.!
They were in a Fender Bassman blackface era 2x12 cab I bought.
I have them in my Vox AC30 now.
Any idea what I have here..?
My internet search was unconclusive.

Re: Plexi Rehab
Hello,
Sorry for the late reply. I was travelling for the holidays.
I replaced all the power filter caps, and all other caps on the turret board (except the large flat rectangular ceramic).
I also replaced the cap on the back of the Presence pot.
Regards,
Bill

Re: Plexi Rehab
Hello,
Thanks for the guidance.
I got this sucker re-capped, and it sounds great.
I got back some edge and crunch.
I didnt change any of the values. I saved the old stuff.
Time to put it back in the box and play on.
Plexi is a beautiful thing..
