Re: Fairfield County Signature (Two-Rock JM Sig) Build Thread

Very cool. I've been kicking myself for not buying one of those chassis when they were available. It would be a great winter project. After watching one of your videos, I thought you might enjoy one of these automatic center punches I have them staged around my shop and they're SO much easier to use...

Re: Demeter TGP-3?

I'm really looking forward to seeing this one. Any more progress on the schematic? I'm making one and for now, I've decided to keep it to myself. James is still in business and is selling them, albeit slowly, so it doesn't seem right to publish the schematic. At the time I started the layout of the...

Flubby Bass - troubleshooting the cause

I have a new preamp (a Demeter) and the bass response on the dirty channels is incredibly loose. I've tried it through a dedicated power amp, and through the power sections of several other amps with the same results. I've tried it with the bass and mids rolled all the way down and with the gain dow...

Re: Mountain of NOS components

I've gone through five of the boxes and have done a basic inventory. My intention was the photograph every component and link the photo to the spreadsheet but some sync troubles between my phone and computer got in the way. The tolerance on the resistors is either 5% or 10%, and in some cases I have...

Re: Mountain of NOS components

I thought I'd post this really quick. A lot of folks are interested in the Q-lines...unfortunately it looks like the only ones in this whole lot are the few that are in that package and I'm going to hang on to those. The selection of caps is very small and the majority of them are in very small valu...

Mountain of NOS components

I just came into a mountain of NOS components (mostly resistors) and don't know exactly what I have yet, but so far I see Airco Speer, Allen Bradley, Dale, Stackpole, IRC, Mepco, Westcom resistors. There are also a bunch of zeners, inductors, some sprague black beauties, a portion of a CPK-150 capac...

Re: Demeter TGP-3?

I haven't done any poking around since I made my last post on this topic. Space it too tight at my house to keep it open for very long and time is too tight to do anything about it now. It'll likely be wintertime before I have enough time to open it up again. I do have a new TGP-3 that he's supposed...

Re: De-Stenching cabinets

Ick. Since you've tried vinegar and detergent with no luck, I suggest that ammonia is the next step. Dilute about 1 cup ammonia in a gallon of cold water. (Hot or warm water is a mistake because the ammonia vapor will overwhelm you in a bad kind of way. Be careful to never mix ammonia with chlorine...

Re: De-Stenching cabinets

Just an update... Got the ozone generator and set it up in the garage for a few hours with the cabs. Didn't work. It's only a 1-car garage but I thought maybe the space was too much so I shut them in my van for two hours with the ozone machine. No Good. Tried it four more times after that ending wit...

Re: De-Stenching cabinets

Thanks all. I'll check out ozone generators and will pull the speakers first so they don't get damaged. The only reason I bought these is for the EVM12L's that came in them. If I can't get the funk out, maybe I'll keep the speakers and see if I can get a bite on the cabinets on CL

De-Stenching cabinets

I picked up a couple of Mesa cabinets back in February (while masked) and didn't notice that they reek of cologne, incense or some other hideous aroma. Once I got them home, I blasted all the ash/dust out with compressed air and wiped down all the tolex with denatured alcohol. Until this week, they'...
