What were the original (or did Leo use different brands?) octal tube sockets used in 60's BF amps?

Does it really matter if they're made in the US or what brand name is printed on the outside? To me, the important factor is if they sound like the old mustards everything else is secondary.

BTW, would 4 evm10m's fit in a SR without any modifications to the cab/baffle?

I thought about going the kit route but since I already have tubes, chassis, cabinet hardware, speakers it's just a matter of getting a cabinet and all the small parts together. None of the kit sellers have an option for just the small parts/electronics.

What about his involvement with Ken back in the old days? How did it come about that he became associated with Ken? Did he have input on any of the design issues and component choices for Ken's amps?
