Re: Drooling
it's cool to read that you still feel this way after having your SSS 002 for a while! Maybe building that amp and playing through it is the fountain of youth! haha

Re: SSS #002 REDRAW DRAFT
No problem, and it basically reduces the output 1 dB if the feedback goes direct to the grid. Other than that, I don't know. Thanks, Martin! Always a cordial interaction with you that I continue to appreciate! I updated the layout with this correction. Fun fact: I looked through my pictures and I h...

Re: SSS #002 REDRAW DRAFT
oh!! That is much clearer.. Thanks, Martin! I apologize if I missed any communication about this discrepancy before. Looks like I'll need to try it in my amp and possibly update the layoutmartin manning wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 5:48 pm Hi Ryan, it's this. As drawn vs. the red. Your layout shows the red.

Re: SSS #002 REDRAW DRAFT
The swap between the 10k & 2.2M was either a tip I received from someone (likely) or based on observation of other amps. The stability of the reverb was not great with 2m2 in series with the reverb send pot. I also realized that feedback made much more sense with 2m2 and the 10k in series with the ...

Re: SSS #002 REDRAW DRAFT
Sorry, I have not been following this thread too much. As for the reverb, the quick history that I recall is that when the original V1 LNFB was incorrectly 1M, the reverb seemed very weak by comparison. I focused on wet/dry mix afterward with some success but something still felt off. When it was br...

Re: AN Wonderland/JM 100w layout
That means running the ground up to the furthest point away from the chassis which is right at the send/receive jacks. Attaching my layout as another way of looking at this. The reason to separate the grounds instead of one single ground point for all of your filter caps is to reduce ground loops by...

Re: Tweedle Dee on Carter
Lol. I mean.. we DO lust over these amps
And yeah, true that the resistors are fairly simple to decipher. I don't know too much about these tweedle Dee amps and lineage. Seems cool tho and spikes my interest a bit

Re: Tweedle Dee on Carter
With some help from AI, we might be able to reverse the b/w filter. This is just with a free tool so I'll keep trying with others and Photoshop neural filters.
Or you could go the other way and take a photo of a resistor and b/w it to see what comes close. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: "A box later" Dumble
I successfully recreated my circuit in LTSpice for further study. Sharing here for anyone that's interested in tweaking the circuit. One thing I might amend in this circuit is using 10KA send and 10KA return pots. Or at least a 10KA on the return instead of 1M I currently have. If you've already mad...
