Re: Rocket build..
I dealt with Michael from Modulus for years. The guy and his products are top notch. His layout does not follow the TW style but the sound is very similar. If your going for sound you can trust in his designs. If you're going for style then you can easily mod his designs by doing up your own board. ...

Is there any 'long bushing' pots that are preferred?

Potentiometers...
Hello all...
What are you guys using for 'long bushing' POTS?
Digging into my first TW style 'Rocket' build and have come up to the 1/8" faceplate + chassis bushing size conundrum.
I can easily find 500K and 250K long bushing POTS but the dreaded 1M seems to be a little more difficult.
Thoughts?

Liverpool? Yes... except the power section I'm referring to is tube rectified and cathode biased.. But a Liverpool is cathode biased. cathode bias.jpg Significant differences between Liverpool and Rocket power amp section are in the details of --- split cathode bias, values of various key resistors...

Re: Q regarding the Normster Rocket?
Wanted to bump this post.
I have a custom princeton chassis and face plate and was thinking of building a 2 octal trainwreck design with reverb.
Will go in a 1/12 combo.
Has there been much success with such?

Re: Weeber transformer specs
Yes, more info on this please. I am looking for a "cheap" 6.6k OT for my garbage can Express build. I have a 3.4k Classictone now. Would the Weber WOT45 series be good for 6V6S? Hammond 1750H (20 watts) or the 1650HA (40 watts) both are cheap and have 6K6 primary impedance. The 1650HA has ultraline...

Hello to all... Long time amper.. first time poster. Thoughts were to build a rocket style circuit in a liverpool chassis. Front panel being V, T, M, B, & P. GZ34 and cathode biased. Was just looking for thoughts, ideas, concerns, or FYI's from y'all. Will be running Mercury Mags for iron and F&T's ...

5E3 OT to 10K?
Hello fellow Ampers
Question on how increasing the OT impedance will change tone.
Building a 5E3.
I have a 20 watt 6K6 OT
I also have a 20 watt 10K OT
As 6V6's like to see around 8K.. I'm wondering what the difference between the two OT's would be in TONE?

Hey there.. Couple of quick question concerning the Dumblized Deluxe. What is the reason for the series resistors (33K and 56K) in the phase inverter? I see its being fed from a 10K balance pot roughly 6.5 and 3.5 (ish).. Why not a 10K feeding the .1uF and a 95K tail? (Which seems high) Love all the...

Any impedance mismatch problems using that 6K6 OT with the EL34's?goldenGeek wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 7:20 pm I have built several 25W-ish amps with Hammond 290NX for power and 1750H/1760H for output, running a pair of EL34
Don't they prefer something down around the 3-4K range?

Re: 25 watt EL34 JCM 800 build
If you want to build a low wattage 'Marshall' type build the amp with EL84's and use the Hammond 1750PA (8K4 @ 18 watts)
or... if you want to go with 6V6's use the Hammond 1750E (8K @ 15 watts)
EL34's with that PT will be pushing you up into the 40 watt range

Re: Discussion: Tweedle Dee Deluxe and Tweedle Dee Champ
Hello, the 110k is a metal film Roderstein Mk3. I believe he used that resistor for two reasons, he wanted a 110k that actually measured 110k and using the metal film gives a bit clearer top end. Notice that he used metal film for the power tube 1k5 grid stoppers as well. The stacked cathode resist...
