Re: Any suggestions for quality solid core wire source
AES carries the Weico 600V topcoat wire now. https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/wire-weico-22awg-stranded-top-coat-pre-tinned-600v-50-feet This is good stuff. Strands stay together. I know what you're talkin about with the strands coming apart, I have some 24AWG topcoat from a pedal parts supplie...

Dumble trademark is long expired, not that you need a trademark registration in the USA in order to assert legal rights to it. But I have always thought it a bit strange... you can degoop, copy, publish diagrams for etc the man's life work right down to every visual detail including the font on the ...

Re: SSS-style DCCF, independant bias? LND150?
Not cloning a SSS here, actually a 100W high-gain new design and I wanted to put this on a switch and see what it does for me. While this stage may (or may not?) provide harmonic color in the SSS, I think I'm mostly interested in the benefit-effects of change in impedance and lack of coupling cap/po...

SSS-style DCCF, independant bias? LND150?
Howdy,
Questions about the DCCF found on the SSS:
1) How would you modify this circuit to use 2x separate bias trimmers (one for each side)?
2) Thoughts/personal experiences swapping in directly LND150 for the 12AX7 here?
TIA

Re: Non-NOS component choices
With respect to just the noise floor, wouldn't we expect thermal noise to be lower when upgrading from a 1/2W resistor to ANY brand 2W resistor?Bombacaototal wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 7:55 am I tried the 100K TKD only at plates. So all of my report relates only to a swap of plate resistor between RN65D and the TKD.
