I built that Blackface Bassman mod in '94, I think. '95 maybe... It came out in Guitar player magazine, and Bassman amps were really cheap then, $50 to $100 probably, which made for a great test bed. I no longer have it, and I didn't have the ability to record everything back then... It sounded good...

I've always taken it to the best tech I know in my area ( IMHO ), Willie Whitaker, otherwise known as Lord Valve. Sadly, he passed away a few months ago. I need to know how to bias...

I've got a yba-1 with a physically split PH204 diode.
I've not been able to source one, but the net says 1N4007 is an equivalent.

I'd prefer to find an real PH204.
If I have to go the 4007 route, should I replace all 4 PH204's?
