Re: Power transformer fails

I have tried the TT ones, bought a lot from them. I returned the Dumble ones I bought, with a lot of hazzles I must say. They didn't sound as goog as the weber did. That's why I have bought 3 of the Webers, they sound very good to my ears. interesting that someone returns power transformers....never...

Re: Power transformer fails

yes, and they offer some other transformers too and the shipping and delivery times are not bad at all. At mouser you get free shipping on the Hammond transformer. that's even better! (if you want the hammond and not some of the other PTs offered by TT) I have tried the TT ones, bought a lot from th...

Re: Power transformer fails

It's 48 mm. I put values in tables..with this dimension, it is possible to wind normal transformer (which will be in normal temp in use) with specs from datasheet - for 120VAC and 60 Hz primary. But for 230V and 50 Hz not, stack must be at least 55cm or lamination one size bigger (EI115-120). So i ...

Re: Power transformer fails

Weber answer, the one I got:"The 50/60 Hz should not be a problem at all of it working/not working/working. Normally if a transformer goes bad, one of the windings will either open (most common) or short."

Ad the mA, seems lik 200mA should be enough?: https://thesubjectmatter.com/calcptcurrent.html

martin manning wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 11:40 am I don't see any mention on Weber's site that this transformer can be used with 50 Hz power. It only mentions "US voltages Power Transformer," which implies 60 Hz.
This is the INT version, made for 240v

Re: Power transformer fails

I don't want to insinuate anything, but (at least in the past) Weber transformers were pretty conservatively rated. This PT was used with their 5e3x2, which uses 4 6v6 and 2 12ax7. Not the same, I know (cathode bias, one less preamp tube), but *somewhat* similar. Also, not using the tube rectifier ...

Re: Power transformer fails

I am using it in the Dumble 50w ODS. Ok, I never thought it would be to lite for the build. Good tip.

Power transformer fails

I have bought three Weber W022798 power transformers to put in a Dumble 50w ods. The amp itself sounds great, and the transformers works great for a awhile, the it starts blowing fuses. I have tried to search for every possible reason, but the 100w bulb limiter lighst up even when all the secondarie...

Re: Hum in Bandmaster

So, in the end it wasn't the OT, but the only part of the amp i didn't think of: The electrolytic on the bias board. I changed it, so dead silent. The electrolytic was a Spraque one, but I suspect it might have been a possible fake one. I bought two of these, on of the wires fell off right away. But...

Dumble 50w PT issue

Hi. I have bought my third W022798int. The two first have gone south and died. I am trying to get an answer from Weber, but they never answer. So, question is what power inlet, 230v or 240v, (voltage differs a bit)? And what secondaries to use: 660 or 720? Any suggestions?

All the voltages here were ok.
