Re: 2x12 Speaker cabinet for JM sig and plexi
As in, which cab company, design and opening. Honestly I love the looks of port city’s os 2x12 wave cabinet. not possible to answer, dimensions of the box and speakers used are critical. random box for random driver will sound - random. cab is more important than the speaker. oval back cannot be ra...

Re: 50watt Plexi cathode bypass and other voicing mods help
-Put in a 25uF on the cathode, and swapped to sozo 0.022 on the tonestack. I don't really notice much difference with this 25uF compared to the 330uF. Which is what the calculator showed me anyways - so I wasn't expecting much. there is no difference between 25uF and 330uF in cathode. i recommended...

Re: 50watt Plexi cathode bypass and other voicing mods help
first find proper tone balance what you want and then we can lower the gain 10x this will be ok -Put in a 25uF on the cathode, and swapped to sozo 0.022 on the tonestack. Cut control with Lar Mar?
This will really show my knowledge level. I have a 50watt plexi from ceriatone (all access) that I built. Looking to add some more experience and knowledge under my belt with exploring this a little further. I am looking at Robs website on cut controls, and am wondering how that would pair up with a...

Re: 50watt Plexi cathode bypass and other voicing mods help
- you have many options, all swithes put in off, lets comment basic amp topology - on normal channel you can put 1uF on V1 cathode instead of 330uF to remove bass/ or any other value which you will like - on normal channel you can add 47pF over gain pot from middle to max viper to add presence on l...

Re: 50watt Plexi cathode bypass and other voicing mods help
Hey Thanks all for your replies! I will give those things a try! - I'll fuss around with the normal channel a bit more and see if I can tweak it to more of my liking. - The 12ay7 to lower gain is a good call too! - I've been using the shared cathode setting - so 330 is on all the time, I could try b...

50watt Plexi cathode bypass and other voicing mods help
Hey there, I'm starting to monkey around in my 50watt plexi. This was my first build and am revisiting it after spending some time playing it, knowing how it sounds and what I'd like to change to voice it more to my liking! Its a ceriatone plexi all access 50watt, so it has a lot of mod values on sw...

2x12 Speaker cabinet for JM sig and plexi
Hey all, I have two wgs et65s I’d like to use for both my 50watt plexi and my jm sig clone 100watt. I am thinking oval back opening on it, but am Curious what the rest of you have had luck with running a 2x12 with these two Styles of amps? As in, which cab company, design and opening. Honestly I lov...

Re: Help troubleshooting jm/an wonderland build
Found it. Forgot to connect the 0.02uf from signal board to the other hot lug of the return jack. Instead had it going to ground. *Facepalm*

Re: Help troubleshooting jm/an wonderland build
Another strange thing I notice when I was poking around with a chop stick, if my hand (ground) got close, not even touching to the 0.1uf and 0.022uf caps connected to the 1megs that are part of the LTPI it cuts the humming. Still no guitar signal passes however.

Help troubleshooting jm/an wonderland build
Fired it up this morning following rob robinettes start up Procedure and a light bulb limiter. No issues. Moved into biasing without the light bulb limiter, as I adjusted the bias around half ways on the pot, I got a loud bass rumble. Scared me honestly. Turned it back, and the noise went away. Noti...

Re: Wonderland/JM sig build
Wondering if any one has pictures/advice for running grounds from the power board over to the send jack of the fx loop?
Would like to see some clean ways of accomplishing it! The mustard yellow wires I’ve drawn in here.

Re: Wonderland/JM sig build
Hi, great looking build! Is that a 1/2 watt resistor on the last cap on the Power supply board? I would go with a larger resistor there. Cheers Guy Hey it is, I was told that’s what dumble did and that it gets warm but not hot. I’m thinking I might go with a 3watt before firing it up. Thanks for po...
