Unless that switch in v1A's plate circuit is set for high gain, then no signal gets into the rest of the amp!

There's actually no switch there on the actual amp, it's a 100k vol (gain) control there.

I usually fuse the HV secondaries before the rectifier but after any bias taps off the HV. I avoid panel mounting any HV fusing just in case.
