Re: New Liverpool build, first fire-up

Stupid question of the day - Where are the rectifier diodes? I'm not seeing any sort of rectifier in that pic posted earlier.

Re: HRM on #183 OD--What Pot Values Work?

Thinking of trying this. I used T 250K, B 250K and M 20K/100R on my Bloozman (HRM Bluesmaster), worked very well. I understand you don't want too much mids in OD, especially if you have Mid Boost on a FSW. Still wondering about that 20K though. Also, why 100R to ground rather than 500R or 1K or so?...

Re: Four 6L6s on a Super Reverb Type Circuit?

Derek Trucks has played a Super Reverb in his band for years (probably has used others but it seems the SR is 'his sound'). Gets a great tone from them.

Re: Four 6L6s on a Super Reverb Type Circuit?

First you said this: Talking with my buddy, who dreams of a Super Reverb sound (without vibrato), with about 80-100 watts and lots of clean headroom . I got a question. Then you said this: I talked to other guitarists today, and they confirmed the claim that the Twin is extremely loud, so while I am...

Re: New ROCKET, from a newbie :)

In addition to the wires on pins 1 and 3 on V1 being reversed, it also looks like the plate load resistor for V1a on the board is 10K and should be 100K (should be brown/black/yellow). You should have the B+ for that stage connected to one end of that 100K (the end closest to the pots).

Re: Preamp Tube

I've had that exact problem and never could figure it out. One piece of advice I can give is to make a list of everything you try, every part you swap, every ground you change, etc. After a while it can get to point where you wonder, "Did I try that?"

Re: 50w highgain mod

Yesterdaysrevolt is now http://www.slocloneforums.com/ Unfortunately with the move some of the schemes have been taken down / lost.... Ah, thanks John. I haven't been there in quite some time (obv) and didn't know it had changed. Meh, schematics are just schematics. Having the right amount of flour...

Re: New Liverpool build, first fire-up

Those voltages don't seem out-of-line. A small % difference in voltage isn't going to make that much of a difference anyway. If it sounds that bad then there is probably a wiring problem. Take some good pics and post and somebody will likely spot it. Also, those slight resistor changes won't make th...

Thanks Fischerman really appreciate all this great info I was interested in the QR also any info on that one? Thanks Darin No info on the QR Darin. I have liked the Splawn clips I've heard though. The yesterdaysrevolt site is a good high gain forum. I'd really like to try a CAE OD100, I've heard so...

Re: Prettty girl.....Pretty guitar

OK this girl doesn't have brown hair...or play guitar (at least not in this video) but she's cute and very good at her stringed instrument of choice. But this video is just too cool to not post...looks like they're having fun. Reminds me of Dixie Dregs. Not sure but I think it's a CAE 100 amp of som...

Re: 50w highgain mod

Very nice Fischerman any footswitches or relay type switching going on Darin Thanks. Both my Bogner-ish thing and the SLO use Vactrols. There is only one footswitch to switch channels on both amps. There is another toggle switch on the front that switches the gainy channel from rhythm to lead but n...

Re: 50w highgain mod

Have you tried the Bogner Ecstasy circuit? It's very Marshally and the 'rhythm' channel is basically the JCM800 circuit, the lead channel is 5 stages with the last three being the typical 10K cathode stage followed by direct-coupled gain stage/cathode follower pair then tone stack. I built a simple ...

Re: RUSH: Time Machine

Sounds like a great show! Huge fan from the moment I heard 2112 as a 12yo in '76. I checked out after Signals. They were a big early influence. One of those bands where you just put the album on and can play every song (within your ability).
