FS: Reverend Chasis transformer, etc

Hi,

This was my first foray into modding amps. At some point I cut out a couple switches to use in other projects. I never put them back. A couple switches at cathodes would fire it up, or you could of course use it for something else.

Asking 150.

Re: MTI Tubes

I hadn’t considered the impedance issue- thank you. Would be interesting to try this concept with a classic tube, such as an el84 or 6v6.

MTI Tubes

Hi Everyone, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I wanted to share a schematic I drew of the MTI Tubes pedal. Honestly, I don't think it sounds particularly great, but it's an interesting idea to place an entire amplifier topology inside a stomp box. Hope you find it at least...

KF Modded Super Bass?

Hi All, Thought I'd share this. It's a schematic of a modified super bass that I was able to look in several years ago. I was told by the owner, who claimed to be the second owner of the amp, that KF had modified it to its current values. I have no way of determining the credibility, and some of the...

Re: Stupid bias question

Thanks muh, guys! Just making sure ohms law still exists! Btw, this is wiring I did several years ago, and involves a fixed/cathode bias switch. I don't think I could have had individual bias resistors because of the cathode bias network, but I probably didn't consider it either. Regards, Jake

Stupid bias question

Hi all, Here's a question from someone who is armed with just enough information to be a danger to himself. Question is, if I connect both power tube (6V6 in this case) cathodes through a single bias 1 ohm resistor do I double the mV (mirroring the current across the resistor) reading on the DMM? Th...

Re: bruno cowtipper schematic

I will post a schematic when I get a chance. Regarding lead dress... I'm not so sure. I know that layout around the power tubes affects ghost notes in my fenders, and that moving around signal wires in the preamp affects ice pickiness and the midrange character in my fenders as well. At least IMHO. ...

Re: bruno cowtipper schematic

I have played cowtippers and thought they sounded fuller and warmer than vintage fenders. But I think that comes from the cabinets and some subtle layout and component type tweaks. Though I wouldnt say the bruno fender clones sound "better", I do believe TB has a good ear and has spent a lot of time...

Re: Allen Amps power tranny hum

Hi Tom. It's in a 77 duluxe (now in head form) with a gz34 rectifier.

I usually can't mess around during the week so I will poke around more over the weekend, but I'm starting to think its just a noisey transformer.

Re: Allen Amps power tranny hum

Well, I pulled the power tubes and could still hear the hum from the xformer. It's fairly loud, and the noise is picked up and (I think) amplified by the power tubes when they are back in. The xformer also vibrates very noticeably, so much you can feel the vibration when holding the far end of the c...
