Re: Studs for baffle

i have seen these as well. i'm not too fond of them as one can be a klutz and easily put it through the speaker cone when installing. t-nuts can be annoying (especially when they just spin and spin and spin) but i feel much safer with em

Re: Next Build: Modded Blackface Vibrochamp

What is the difference between the one and two tube reverbs? And can I add a dwell control on the front end like in the one tube option? standard fender reverb uses three triodes plus a reverb transformer. it really is the way to go if you like really wet reverb in the amp but i tend to shy away fr...

Re: Shipping costs going up?

whenever i buy tolex i order 89 bucks worth of stuff from antique electronics supply instead of paying a bit less per item from ce because the shipping for something that long is expensive

Re: Help w/2000 Fender Pro Jr Tweed Amp...

bright cap allows some of the high frequency to pass when the volume pot is lower than 10, so it will actually lessen high frequency content when clipped

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild

the one before the choke is so you have a capacitor input power supply instead of a choke input power supply, which will both give you the ht voltage the amp is designed for and actually work (choke input supply generally requires a bigger choke). the one after the choke becomes your new reservoir cap

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild

so go power transformer -> rectifier -> electro cap -> choke -> electro cap. you'll connect this last electro cap to the output transformer, and then continue with your RC filter string for the rest of the power supply nodes

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild

Adding a choke is not a problem of money, more a problem for me because i need to understand how to make it a part of this circuit when i know so little and i am still trying to figure out the basic staff  so why a lot of guitar amps use a choke instead of a resistor is because it filters as ...

Re: OT Needed For 60's Gibson GA-6 Amp....

i will add my glowing review for musical power supplies. maybe not nearly the selection of ready-to-order transformers that classictone had but they've certainly filled a big hole (good quality stuff for very little money)

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild

for your power tube bias, best thing to do is measure and do the maths (or enter into a calculator like on robinette's site) and see. 100% or so bias is okay here if you don't mind throwing an extra couple of dollars into it (and if it will fit), adding a pi filter (cap + choke) before your first po...

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild

first stage cathode bypass cap you'll get a lot more mileage from farther apart values.... something like 220-470nf, 1uf, 25uf. your values are a little close for much audible difference. attach the small value directly to the cathode resistor and have your switch short a larger value resistor (47k,...
