Re: ODS 102 with 2x KT88s and built-in Dumbleator
... I actually haven't been able to find any other schematics at all for how anyone has incorporated a built-in Dumbleator. ... I've used the dumbleator in both my Skyliner and the Delta amps I've documented here. The cap values are a little different than standard for modified filtering but the ba...

Re: Dumble ODS 102 Mistakes and Recovery
After talking to you guys on this forum, I have come to the conclusion you are all the most useful and nicest people to do with amps. Since my last post I have resolved quite alot of choices, not least what transformers I am going to use. (I am going to use Modulusamplification PT & OT). I have ari...

I had a look around and these are a good price if you're going to be needing them regularly

With just one image to go off it looks to be arcing. You could forward the photo to the supplier but only as preface to returning it anyway. It's probably part of a matched set as well, yes? In such a case, it might be necessary to return the whole set. Best to contact the supplier and take it up wi...

Re: Conductive boards again.
You have a nice collection of carbon comp resistors there and though it looks like the boards are the real problem here was an interesting commentary on reconditioning the carbon resistors from Hi Fi Collective: Being made of organic material, they do have the tendency to absorb water from the atmos...

Re: Amp parts for sale
Everyone, I thought I could handle selling stuff but that proved impossible with my health. My heart has decreased Left Ventricle ejection fraction at 36% so not getting enough air, of course medication increased so breathing a lot better now. Next is to tackle my blood sugar levels so I don't slee...

Re: Conductive boards again.
I admit I am curious... Are you even going to try to resurrect this beast? How do you even begin to evaluate whether an amp like this is worth saving? And to what lengths you might go to preserve the legacy value of the original? Yes, I want to save the amp, I don’t know what it will take to get it...

Re: Tube Town 5a3?
Living in Europe, i do a lot of business with Tube Town and I've always had a good experience with them. They are usually supportive as long as you don't hit them with too many sophisticated problems. English probably isn't their first language. If you order from them, do an inventory of the kit par...

Re: Tweedle Dee on Carter
Just curious. Does anyone recognise the make of this resistor? It's likely it's the cathodyne bias resistor: Rb = 1.5k.

Re: The McDonald Tweedle Dee
I noticed a shielded cable, white, so possibly teflon, passing under the board from the volume pot to the V2a grid. It's grounded on the side of the Normal pot.

Re: Tweedle Dee on Carter
Richard McDonald talked about this amp, and his experience with Dumble on Guitarwank 253.. It's a really cool listen: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4ZrxGkNVI078ogbQ6u9ccx?si=0e85bde680664706 Thank you. It was nice to hear of the real legacy of his friendship with McDonald. Okay, that didn't take long. The schematic is done. First draft anyway. If you see any errors or think it could be improved, please let me know.
